One of the few survivors in St Laurent of the French socialist job destruction machine sweeping through the Riviera now (2017 target: Juan-les-Pins). After a seven-month renovation (during which the entire Var was forced to tear down and rebuild their properties on a smaller scale to not encroach on the sidewalk of "the people"), they reopened this May with about 40 fewer spots (though with a bigger terrace), but thankfully the quality of the food is still great (and yes Derek, the bathroom is better too!). The service here is top notch, and not only are the servers great but the owner is also very friendly; you'll see him walking around and checking on the tables to make sure everything is going well. Make sure to get their oysters, some of the best I've had...
