Pizza de l'Ara — Restaurant in Grasse

During a recent visit to Pizza de l’Ara, my experience was a curious juxtaposition of satisfaction and disappointment. My own pizza was a delightful indulgence, with a perfect balance of ingredients. The crust, crisp yet soft in the right places, provided an excellent base for a generous layer of cheese that was melted to perfection. Every bite oozed with richness and flavor, encapsulating the essence of a classic cheesy pizza—simple yet immensely satisfying.

However, my companion’s pizza was, regrettably, a stark contrast. It arrived with a raw egg awkwardly perched atop a soggy crust, an unwelcome and disjointed element. Rather than integrating harmoniously with the rest of the ingredients, the egg seemed misplaced, and the pizza itself was overly wet, resulting in an unappealing, drippy mess. The sauce and toppings failed to coalesce, leading to a dish that was, at best, a culinary misstep.

The disparity between our meals was striking. While I thoroughly enjoyed my pizza, my friend’s disappointment cast a shadow over the overall dining experience. The inconsistency in quality is something the establishment may wish to address, ensuring that all pizzas meet the same standard of excellence. Pizza was nothing special, but quite OK. Service was not so good. I think they prefer local people. After 30mins we asked where our pizza stays as other people came, ordered, waited 10mins and got their pizza... Told us it takes another 10mins, no „sorry“ or anything similar.. Nous sommes arrivé tard à Vence du au retard de train et nous deviont rejoindre notre gest house , nous sommes tombé devant cette pizzeria et je dis à mon mari on vas prendre un taxi mais il est tard laisse moi commande une pizza avant car fatigue après 11h de train j avais pas envie de sortir , je profite pour leur demander si la rue ou nous allions était loin , une charmante jeune fille demande au patron , à 500m a peu pres, je lui dit vous connaissez un taxi ? Madame c est trop près il vous prendrons pas ah mince mon mari a 83 ans et on a une grosse valise et en plus mon téléphone est décharge,et je peux pas utilisé mon GPS le jeune homme derrière le comptoir me dit je vous le charge très gentil comme geste et au moment de nous en aller avec notre pizza le patron dit à son fils allez il vas vous emmener et pourtant ils était occupés, je suis stupéfaite par la gentillesse de cette équipe et c est si rare un service pareil bravo à vous et bien sure la pizza était excellente , notre première impression de Vence grâce à vous sera mémorable...
