Seriously understaffed and the food despite generous servings, were lacking in taste. We waited patiently 40 min to order, entrées served 20 min later (spring rolls and satay chicken sticks) and an hour later (ie 2 hours after our arrival) the main courses (2 curries and a Laab salad) were served after repeated contact by myself (often having to stand up and attempt to find a staff member since the waiters disappeared for longer periods - I found one of them at a neighboring restaurant 2 doors up from the Thai restaurant!) with the wait staff and the kitchen staff. The restaurant has seating for about 50 clients and there are only 2 waiters and 2 kitchen staff - hence seriously understaffed if one is considering only the seated guests. To make matters worse, besides the seated diners, the restaurant is also servicing a considerable amount of take-away orders (eg via Über eats) The main course dishes, whilst generous and of reasonable quality, significantly lacked the umami (despite being a Japanese term, is now applied to a variety of cuisines). In other words, the Laab and the Green curry were very flat in taste. The Penang curry was actually decent - albeit with a slight over abundance of peanut taste (although satay lovers will be pleased). One of the 2 waiters served what was clearly a group of friends of the waiter, and after sitting and chatting with his guest friends for 30minutes and taking their order (despite our group having arrived and seated before his group of friends), neglected to take our order despite walking past our table. I had to repeatedly contact the waiters colleague for service to order, and it took 10minutes for the second waiter to take our order. The restaurant was at this stage with about 50% of seated guests, since many early diners were finished and leaving the restaurant. The waiters were clearly affected by alcohol during their work, forgetting guests, serving main courses to the wrong guest, and with the kitchen staff reporting to me that our main course was delayed since their waiter colleague had forgotten to pass the order for the main courses to the kitchen staff. By the time we had finished our simple Thai dinner at 23:10 (we arrived at 21:05), and therefore ate very quickly, the wait staff were visibly close to being fully drunk, sitting outside the restaurant on the footpath and drinking and partying with friends, playing loud party music. The second waiter that took my payment at 23:10 would not have been able to drive safely at all, he could hardly focus his eyes. Definitely not a restaurant to take hungry young children to, and perhaps not a restaurant if you appreciate sober and competent and timely service, and not the restaurant for you if you appreciate the true taste of thai cuisine as it was, as mentioned, quite flat. I wonder if one is determined to eat at this restaurant, that one could possibly achieve a better experience by reserving a table for say 21:00 and placing one’s order via Über-eats for pickup at 21:15 (since take-away seems to be prioritized contra the seated guests) - then one can simply unpack one’s über-eats order at your table at the restaurant - in this way at least the poor service and long wait for food presumably be could avoided (the food will still taste...
Read moreA sweet little spot. It seems like a sweet family-run spot — the woman at the front was the chef, her husband was the only server, and their little boy even helped out (so cute!).
We came in with low expectations but were pleasantly surprised by the flavor and freshness. The papaya salad was bright, the fried chicken wings were perfectly crispy, the Thai basil chicken fried rice was so flavorful, and the vegetable rolls were light and crunchy. For having a bunch of tables and just one man (plus his little helper) running around, the service was incredible — he was so kind and literally hustling the whole time.
Highly recommend visiting and supporting this small family...

The service was family-like especially if you were Thais (self service was welcome) One of the best and original Thai restaurant in town. ...
