La Chandelle Restaurant Pizzeria — Restaurant in Grenoble

Wow. I had the signature pizza, and it was one of the best I've ever had. The base was superbe - with a good crispy edge perfectly cooked, and great tasting. The pizza had regular ham, chorizo, rocket, goats cheese, and fresh tomatoes; and was topped with balsamic creme which I had to look up once I got home to understand that it is 'cooked must of grapes from Moderna, concentrated, then, mixed with balsamic vinegar'.

This time I tried one of the Calzones. Nice and tasty, but a touch over the top in terms of the amount of base. One of the best in Grenoble, but still next time I'll go for a regular pizza.

Visited again in Feb 2022, and they've added a new set of pizzas with truffle. The range of options is now the best in Grenoble.

This used to be one of my favorite places to go for pizza. Tonight we went and wanted to order 2 pizzas for 3 people. 1 of the pizzas being the very large Chandelle. They told us we could not do that any longer.we had to order 3 pizzas even though we left the equivalent of 2/3 a pizza because we couldn't eat 3 pizzas. The pizza was still decent, the problem is the service has changed. Possibly a change of ownership? I don't know but not as friendly as the last 4 years. Fuimos 6 personas a cenar, llegamos el restaurante estaba con pocas mesas, nos tomaron el pedido y casi 2 horas después viene el mesero a decir que 3 de los platos que pedimos ya no habían. Fue muy frustrante pues después de nosotros entraron casi 3 mesas más aparentemente amigos de los dueños, noté con desesperación pues ya había pasado mucho tiempo que empezaron a llegar platos a dichas mesas y con la misma orden que pedimos que fueron en su mayoría chuletas apanadas. Las mesas después de nosotros cenaron, acabaron y hasta se quedaron en charla con los dueños y nosotros aún esperando más de dos horas. Tal fue la pena de la dueña que nos dio una botella de vino gratis.

Sinceramente no hay derecho. Es una falta de respeto con el tiempo de los comensales extranjeros. Si su restaurante es para la familia y amigos y tiene esa relevancia en el orden de atención, pues considero que no debería atender a más personas. Finalmente llegaron los platos sabores regulares, mis compañeros los cuales pidieron platos italianos tuvieron que elegir hamburguesa por que les toco,,, ya con hambre y cansados.
