La Fondue en Folie — Restaurant in Grenoble

We booked for a large group - it was all confirmed and on arrival the “manager” (who did not seem to be managing at all), told us he did not have a table for us. He was apologetic. We rebooked for two nights later at 7pm.

We arrived at 7pm and were told to wait outside as they were not ready for us. We came into the restaurant and were shown to a table which had a few bits of cutlery (not all clean) and a couple of glasses on it.

After 1 x hour we had not received any water, drinks or food. The staff were smirking and shrugging and totally uninterested. Other tables came in and received wine - some even got some food. We were not so lucky. There was another family there with young children who were treated the same way.

We did not wait any longer and left.

Overall, the issue was the staff, it was a busy week in Alps Huez and they couldn’t have been any less interested in providing customer service.

It was meant to be a special night, instead it was enraging and utterly disappointing. We were left with 19 people with no where to eat TWICE.

I cannot comment on a fondue because I don't like fondue cheese I was with a group and they booked it, But what I will say is that they also do steak and the steak was absolutely wonderful.

The stuff we're really friendly and it's a little bit quirky there with the bread on a bit of string basket etc.

Overall it was a pleasant evening.

Unfortunately there was a mix-up with our booking so we didn't get long in there
