My daughter and I have spent the last week dining in a five star hotel, however this final evening at Pinocchio was hands down our best dining experience of the week. The service was excellent. The ambience was relaxed yet lively, friendly and convivial. The starter sharing platter was insanely good - with so many meats, fior di latte, pizza bread, breadsticks, arancini, agrodolce of courgette and aubergine, mixed peppers and artichoke. Delicious and huge. Our pizzas were also very tasty with a generous helping of our toppings on a fantastic, chewy yet crunchy and smokey base. A good drinks selection (well, ample for us), and a limoncello gratis afterwards. We rolled down the hill back to our hotel and have a box full of cold pizza for breakfast in the morning! Yay!

Affordable for the region. Pizzas can be ordered without cheese for vegans. I also highly recommend ordering a side of potatoes. There are not explicitly on the menu. They are seasoned only with a few basil leaves and barely any oil for a warm crunchy delight! Also, there is a second floor so don't be shy to ask if there is still room as what you see in the windows is only about 1/2 the seating area.

Unfortunately it didn’t live up to our expectations from reading other reviews. They said they had an issue with the pizza oven which is fine, but many of the other options on the menu were also not available, including fries. We ended up ordering pasta and risotto dishes and waited over an hour for them to arrive. On the plus side, the food was delicious, just a shame about everything else.

we have visited the place many times for the great pizza ! BUT the last time we were left disappointed. The proposed dish of the day which was pasta with meatballs was not as expected. It was like they cooked for 100 people and i had a portion of it. My wife had also a pasta from the menu and it was great. The desserts were unfortunately not what we expected. We understand that it is a restaurant in a resort and everything will be pricy and we were ok with that. But charging 9€ for a muffin with a ball of vanilla ice cream, i wouldn't call it ok. The other dessert "Baba in Rhum" was a piece of old bread not well soaked in Rhum. Also not ok. I guess we could just order Pizza or maybe it was a bad day. The service was excellent though. The wine we chose ( Rosé Pinocchio ) was also good. I guess everyone deserves to have a bad day, even restaurants. We will definitely visit it again because we love Alpes d'Huez, and i hope that we want be...

Unfortunate experience overall.

Pasta dishes are average at best (lasagne) and at worst, tasteless (carbonara and veal meatballs). Pizza’s arrived 50 minutes after the arrival of the other mains, with one being forgotten despite 2 reminders. However, if visiting I would recommend the pizza’s over any other dishes.
