La mia cena in questo ristorante è stata a dir poco deludente. Tutto è stato caratterizzato da cibo di pessima qualità e da un odore sgradevole che rendeva i piatti ancora meno invitanti. Non voglio criticare eventuali scelte culinarie legate a culture diverse dalla mia, ma la qualità del cibo dovrebbe essere sempre una priorità, ed è stata oggettivamente terribile. L'antipasto è stato l’unico piatto appena assaggiabile, anche se le ostriche avevano un aspetto poco invitante. Il resto del menu è stato un disastro totale. Il piatto con cozze e foie gras, in particolare, è stato il peggiore che io abbia mai provato: crostacei pieni di sabbia, pancake bruciati e un foie gras che di certo non era fresco. Il pesce servito, oltre a essere mal presentato (alcuni piatti abbondanti, altri scarni), era pieno di lische, dimostrando scarsa competenza in cucina. Un’altra delusione è stato il filetto di cervo con cioccolato: quello della mia amica era crudo al limite dell’immangiabile, accompagnato da una poltiglia indefinibile sia alla vista che all’olfatto. L’unica nota positiva della serata è stato il dessert, che era accettabile, ma nulla che potesse compensare il resto. Il servizio è stato altrettanto pessimo. Nessuno del personale si è premurato di chiedere spiegazioni quando abbiamo mandato indietro quasi tutti i piatti. Inoltre, siamo stati trattati in modo scortese per tutta la serata. Durante i festeggiamenti per la mezzanotte, ci è stato maleducatamente chiesto di rientrare nel locale, come se avessero temuto che non avremmo pagato. Festeggiare l’ultima notte dell’anno uscendo dal ristorante per qualche minuto non dovrebbe essere motivo di sospetto. Mi sono scusata più volte con la coppia seduta al tavolo accanto, che ha capito la situazione e ha riso con me, dicendo che non c’era alcun problema per il rumore. Gli altri ospiti non sembravano minimamente disturbati dal nostro comportamento, anche se, ammetto, i miei amici avrebbero potuto essere un po’ più tranquilli. Una volta rientrata nel locale, mi sono subito premurata di chiedere scusa agli altri presenti e augurare loro un buon anno: la mia gentilezza non è stata minimamente ricambiata da parte dello staff. Aggiungo che il proprietario ha fatto riferimento al fatto che abbiamo "dato fuoco alla sua terrazza.”: avremmo sicuramente potuto lasciare più ordine e mi scuso per questo, ma è chiaro che la situazione è stata completamente ingigantita da parte loro, con l’anno nuovo proviamo a essere più comprensivi ed essere più educati nel dire le cose! Ciò che è accaduto durante il pagamento è stato a dir poco esagerato. Il prezzo della cena era spropositato rispetto alla qualità pessima del cibo, e mi è sembrato del tutto lecito chiedere uno sconto. Il proprietario ha più volte sottolineato di aver chiamato la polizia, affermando che non volevamo pagare, quando invece tutti avevano già saldato la somma, tranne una persona che era momentaneamente uscita dal locale, la quale non siamo riusciti a contattare perché una cameriera, scortese e vestita in modo inappropriato, ci ha chiusi dentro il ristorante come se fossimo animali.

In sintesi, scarsa qualità del cibo, servizio pessimo e un trattamento del tutto inadeguato verso i clienti, peccato perchè la location era l’unica cosa carina e salvabile. Non consiglio a nessuno di frequentare questo posto, né tantomeno di organizzare una serata...

It's rare that you find a gem of a family-run gourmet restaurant in a ski resort town. Yet that is what La Porte d'a Côte is: a charming place with pride of craft in the food. Chef Damien prepares exquisite dishes with as many locally-sourced ingredients as possible, prepared to perfection and served by a staff that is knowledgeable and approachable. Josie handles reservations with ease, and Marion commands the front of the house with grace and humor. The atmosphere is low-pressure and intimate, whether sitting indoors or on their spacious front patio. The selection of wines, spirits, and beers is excellent and well curated. Over the course of three nights eating at La Porte I enjoyed the tartiflette (rich and filling), cod (prepared to a perfect finish with lovely local vegetables), and côte de boeuf (truly a home run for Chef Damien, with excellent flavor and sides). Appetizers of brie with truffle, and a spectacular cheese selection for dessert, made for wonderful nights feeling pleasantly full. I plan on returning to this excellent restaurant whenever I'm in the Les 2...

This is a small fairly quaint restaurant but sadly the food and service were not great. We both ordered steak from the specials menu but this came out cooked way beyond the point of ‘well done’ cooking time (you would expect the opposite in france usually). It was bone dry and thoroughly disappointing. There was a tiny amount of broccoli and 1 miniature sprout on both of our plates. The waitress did ask if our food had been okay although she seemed annoyed after we replied saying very politely it had been mediocre, she left the table immediately and didn’t ask anything more. No waiting staff returned to our table and we had to go up to the counter to pay for our mains and wine. We got our desserts elsewhere. It seems the reviews for this place are either great or quite the opposite, maybe we were just unlucky...
