Finally! A proper Indian restaurant in the area! The Taj Mahal in Pons serves up a full menu of traditional Indian dishes for dine-in and takeaway. They offer à la carte dishes or a variety of menus, including a 3-course luncheon menu for just 4€50, including starter, main, and dessert, as well as rice and a naan. The food is tasty and spicy - our party of 7 English speakers laughed with the waiter about "French spicy" or "English spicy" so you can request more spice. We tried the lunchtime 3 course menu a couple of weeks after the restaurant opened. Generous portions for starter and main course. Two good sized samosas for starter and a tasty chicken curry with a good sized plate of pilau rice for the main. Dessert was simple, ice cream or cake. Price included naan and sauces. The owner was very friendly. Excellent value at 14.50 €. A more extensive menu is also available. We enjoy a good curry and hope this restaurant is a success as we will definitely want to visit again...
