Oh my! What a gem. We stayed in Gentilly and found this place on the night before we left. Wish we had discovered it earlier. Tucked down a little side street, with very little roadside appeal, you step into this large open space, with the bar at one side and a large seating area, and in the second room a stage area to the right. This apparently had been an old print works, and the amount of room in here was amazing. We were approached by a young man from behind the bar, who was utterly charming, welcoming and was open to our questions. He very helpfully stated that he had only two days before had translated the French menu that it was now readable from a QR code with which he shared with us. Which was great, and we told him, that he had done well and it translated well. We were so impressed by the delightful smells of cooking that we even tried the snails! My husband, never goes too far beyond food that he regularly eats, tried them, said they were delicious and finished them off. L' Escargot again please! I went on to enjoy an excellent fish main course followed by the most amazing tiramisu. We loved our time at Chez Louise, we have only dropped a star on the ambience. We had asked why it seemed so quiet, the bar man had said they have busy lunches, that evenings were quiet, that they were hoping to do some nightly entertainment to increase numbers. Good luck to you sir, you deserve full tables each night, compliments, regards and thanks...
