The Chansonnerie — Restaurant in La Roche-sur-Yon

Upon entering the restaurant it felt like stepping back in time. The space isn't big which is nice because it doesn't get crowded. At first, everyone was quiet but after a few sips of red wine the conversations started to flow ☺️ The servers were very nice and attentive and since it was a sit down meal everything was served to us. The food was great and the portions were large. When we arrived at our table the appetizers were already waiting for us. There was a big bowl of potato salad, some cold cuts with cornichons and bread. My son on the other hand had a different meal. For his appetizer he was served a mousse de canard which he didn't like so he ended up eating our food 😅 For the main course, we had a large portion of pork with choucroute. We truly enjoyed this meal as the pork was cooked so well we couldn't even taste the grease or fat. My son happily devoured his two large sausages with vegetables. The food was beautifully prepared. A small resealable glass bottle of red wine and a clay pitcher of cold water were also included in the meal. If you want an extra drink like a soda you will have to pay it on the spot and they will deliver it to you. To end our dinner we were served a delicious gâteau Charlotte au chocolat with crème anglaise and an option of either coffee or tea was also part of the meal. As for the kids, they served a popsicle. We were so full and contented afterwards. It wasn't a buffet, but we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I highly recommend this...

Disgraceful vegetarian menu. As a starter while paying the same price as the meat menu you only get to share a salad with those having ordered meat. So vegetarian menu is not a replacement but just the meat menu without meat. The actual meal had an repeated eggs that was uneatable. Avoid at all cost...
