L' Îlot du bout — Restaurant in Le Marin

A very enjoyable experience. I expected that perhaps the food might be on the spicy side. I certainly didn't find it so, but certainly it was not at all bland. The food was fantastic and the portions were generous. My French is just moderate, but they were patient and polite. We were warmly greeted upon arrival and after we'd finished, the owner/? manager came by and chatted with us quite a bit. I loved the music as well, not what I normally listen to, but I found myself disappointed that my phone didn't recognize more, as I'd like to re-listen to many. And, well, our bill for two was just €64, and that included desert and coffee after. We were there on a Friday evening starting just after 7pm, and it wasn't too crowded but did fill up gradually.

Some tips: lots of places here are "open" for the time between whenever lunch ends ca. 3 pm until very late, but aside from La Havanna, most do not start diner service before 7. If you aren't sure about getting a table later, go...

My sister and I were looking for a place to eat and ended up at L'îot du bout. It’s a really nice spot with a cool and relaxed atmosphere. When we arrived, we were seated quickly, but within two minutes, my sister realized her sandals were covered in ants that were biting her. We let the staff know and changed tables.

At first, our server was friendly — she even spoke English to my sister, which was appreciate . We got our drinks, which were fine, and waited for the food. But after that, things went downhill. The server spent most of her time chatting with her friends and seemed annoyed whenever we tried to get her attention, even making faces when we called her over.

When the food finally came, it looked well prepared. However, my sister's order was incorrect, and the BBQ ribs she got were almost all fat and barely any meat. We mentioned the issue, but nothing was done to fix it. She ended up not eating at all, and we still had to pay for the dish, which was frustrating and...

Friendly and attentive staff, remember you are on island time. They do cater to tourists, of course due to the area. Menu is in English and potion sizes are large like back I. The states.

We shared a tapas plate which was excellent. Other people in my party got salads for lunch, the Italian and the Caesar, which were both excellent.
