Maybe just an unlucky day and additionally an unlucky seating arrangement.
First, the food was VERY delicious, well cooked, prepared and depicted. This applies to the whole menu! Everything looks like its made with lots of love and there were lots of options to choose from and all of them were magnifique!
The menu card is sadly a mess. Its not only bad organized (not following the: ApperitifsEntréePlatsDessertsDrinks/Wines order, plus the chefs choice suggestions, which where completely at the end of it all on the back, added more good special options to the menu in general - it made ordering additionally "difficult" for first timers) but also the font of the writing is awful to read and to look at.
The staff was nice and kind but I really pitied them after some time as sweat kept pouring down their faces and they struggled to breathe. Only two waiters rushed from kitchen to the tables and took orders - full house. Sometimes a third person atleast helped out with serving drinks. The ready-to-serve dishes piled on the kitchen counter one after the other as the waiters struggled to keep up. !! Definitely not the waiters fault !! My guess is that one of their coworkers called in sick the last second. Atleast that is what I hope for, because otherwise theyd be exposed to that stress and struggle every day. Meanwhile the cooks were fooling around and playing on their phone :D
What I also really disliked is the environment. Not only does it feel and look shabby but the tables were really small and also put together closely, so sometimes you bumped into the person behind or next to you. This also caused the whole room to be extra loud. Kinda gave the vibes of factory farming - to get and drain the most profit (I guess, duh).
Definitely deserves another visit/try! And maybe some investment from the owners concerning the...
Aujourd’hui, on déchante.
Read moreWe had a lovely meal at Le LB. As a party of four, we didn't have lunch reservations but they managed to seat us and we enjoyed a selection of comfort food on a cold, windy, rainy Saturday. The staff was very friendly and patient with our limited French. The prices were very reasonable, the food was exceptional and the wine was great. We are so glad we got to eat here. Highly...
