La Piazzetta — Restaurant in Lyon

Food: Very tasty pizza joint. First, unprompted they bring us a delicious aperitivo of salami and cheeses that was quite tasty (and not on the bill). We ended up ordering a pizza, with charcuterie as the topping, a few beers and a of couple arancini that were quite tasty. Massive portions by the way; I kept enviously eyeing some girl’s Carbonara next to me because the thing comes out in a literal frying pan with a mountain of pasta and meat. Looked amazing.

Service: The service was excellent all things considered. We do not speak much French and he didn’t speak much English, however, he was incredibly kind smiling and chatting with the (clear) locals that were there. The food was a bit slow to come out, however, given the aperitivo, the beer, and the lovely at atmosphere, this isn’t even a complaint, just an observation.

Atmosphere: Top notch atmosphere, wish I spoke French to be able to converse with him and our waitress, they seem like lovely individuals. Family-friendly for sure.

Ahhh La Piazzetta ! Un art de vivre ! Si vous aimez les produits italiens frais directement arrivés de Sicile, de Napoli, de Toscane, Des Pouilles, etc. Foncez sans attendre a la Piazzetta.

C’est inévitablement le meilleur italien du centre ville. Si vous souhaitez manger les meilleures planches italiennes de Lyon qui sont gargantuesques, les pâtes époustouflantes aux sauces de la Mamma Napolitaine, le tiramisu a vous faire tomber de vos chaises, allez a la Piazzetta !! Marco propose en plus un service a table alors que c’est une trattoria italienne donc ceux qui commentent que le service est long renseignez vous avant de critiquer car sachez qu’il n’y a pas de service normalement dans ce genre d’etablissement unique en son genre. C’est vous qui allez commander et vous asseoir a votre table. C’est d’ailleurs ce qui permet les prix imbattables !!

D’autres préfèreront probablement se faire avoir dans d’autres endroits onéreux de la presqu’île, les connaisseurs iront, quand a eux, a la Piazzetta, référence italienne du gout mais également du don de soi par son gérant Marco qui représente le sens du commerce au tempérament de Lion et qui je l’espère inspirera nombres d’établissements lyonnais qui ne sont clairement pas a cette hauteur. It's the best Italian in the city center. If you want to eat the best Italian meals of Lyon that are gargantuan, the amazing pastas with the sauces of Mamma Neapolitan, the tiramisu to make you fall from your chairs, go to the Piazzetta !! Marco offers more service at the table while it is an Italian trattoria so those who comment that the service is long information before criticizing because know that there is no service normally in this kind of single establishment of its kind. It is you who will order and sit at your table. This is also what allows unbeatable prices!

Others will probably prefer to be had in other expensive places of the presqu’île, the lovers will go, to Piazzetta, Italian reference of the taste but also of the gift of oneself by its manager Marco which represents the sense trade to the temperament of Lion and which I hope will inspire many establishments in Lyon who are clearly not at this level. Horrible service, horrible staff, rude and arrogant people who worked there. The waitress took our order after 40 minutes that we were in and after 1hour and 10 minutes we asked her why our order isn't served yet. She hasn't give the order to the kitchen at all. I went inside and asked them politely what is the problem because we were starving and it was too hot outside in the sun. Someone from the kitchen started shouting and me saying: 'Lady lady you can leave if you want, you can go. No english here no english'. They didn't even try to apologise at us. We didn't have anywhere to go then because all the restaurant had closed kitchen at that time and we ended up eating fast...
