We came for the typical « bouchon » experience, and we definitely got it! The salade lyonnais was good, the artichoke salad was a bit bland, needed salt and acid. We both had the quenelle and it was good, very much a typical lyonnais dish, and one we had never had before. Very rich and could have been a bit brighter but maybe that’s the way it is supposed to be. Great service. We were on the terrace, and two flies decided to take a swim in my partner’s wine. We asked for a new glass, expecting to get just the glass itself (we ordered a carafe of wine), but they came out with a full glass of wine. Handled very appropriately! I found a staple in my quenelle, the server flagged it to the chef, who passed on his apologies and comped a dessert. Again, handled very appropriately. The highlight was the desserts, a clafoutis and a baba au rhum. Perfect! In all, a good bouchon experience, but needs to be tweaked a bit to really make the flavours sing, as it was it was good, but a...
Read moreYou will not regret reserving for this interpretation of traditional Lyonnais cuisine. The staff are efficient and knowledgeable. The food options do not stray too far out of the typical Bouchon experience at an affordable price point. They feature creative ways to enhance the ingredients and presentations while staying true to the essence of the meal. The Vitello Tonnato, copeaux de Parmesan, toast, câprons, mayonnaise au thon, câpres et cornichons blew my mind. The Salad Lyonnaise was very generous and more meaty than what you would normally get elsewhere. Great wine selection and a very quiet, cozy atmosphere. Worth every...
Read moreIt's pretty hard to find a good meal on Monday in Lyon we discovered. Happily Le Sully was recommended to us by a local shop keeper and we were lucky enough to score a table for dinner. This is not a traditional bouchon. More upscale, it offers a short menu of well cooked dishes. I wish we'd ordered the mushroom puff pastry as a starter as it looked delicious . I was very happy however with my chicken with morel sauce and my wife enjoyed her fish. The creme brule was outstanding and one serving was certainly big enough to split. There is a good selection of wines and the service is as it should be in a nice...
