LEPTINE. (ex Morfal) — Restaurant in Lyon

A modern fusion restaurant with a chef that is not afraid to take risks and experiment. The menu is constantly changing with a few classics remaining on the menu so it’s hard to recommend any one dish. With that said, the menu is small enough where if you’re with a group for 4+, you should just order everything in the menu, which is what I did.

All dishes were unique and excellent, applying different cooking techniques and evoking new distinct flavors. I enjoyed every one of the dish.

2 small areas of improvement may be the red lighting which made it slightly difficult to see the beautiful dishes. Secondly, it’s served tapas style so you get all your dishes right away which may be a little overwhelming deciding what to eat first.

Other than that, this place is highly recommended and I would love to return. Looking forward to what the chef continues to...

Unplanned gem in Lyon! We were looking for lunch before heading into the museum of fine art, and kept seeing the tourist brasseries and trying to avoid them.... Then we heard some 90s hip-hop music and followed it till we ended up at Morfal! Our lunch was fantastic. A mix of cocktails and middle eastern and Mediterranean. I actually never asked what the restaurant was trying to do because I was so hungry and the food was so good. All the dishes were medium sized but easy to share, and the seating was informal but comfortable. Everyone was super friendly and we just enjoyed every bite. Each dish combines spices, sauces and main ingredients in really flavorful combinations. So many layers of flavor and colors.... It's really hard to put to words, just go and...

If you have just one hour in Lyon and one place to have dinner - this is your place to go. One of the best experiences we ever had with food on our lives.

Chief takes orders by himself, will gladly help you choose your meal and will give best recommendations for the drinks. He is super friendly and nice to everyone. King of a man!

We ate 4 dishes for two and it was perfect, the portions are rather big but you don’t feel overwhelmed with any of the dishes. Tastes like pure magic - there are 6-7 different second tongues happening with you when you try any dish.

Almond soup was cool, but veal and fish are the best. Definitely go for the desert - it is a must.
