Restaurant La Belle Colombe — Restaurant in Lyon

A type of encounter where we decided to leave before ordering.

We sat down at a table on the side walk. Two out of more than a dozen tables weren't taken at 9pm. There was no waiter around and we did not go inside to ask if any tables were available and which table we should choose. Of course, this can be considered a mistake in France. However, taking into account the big picture we just sat down.

Our buggy parked next to us. Half of the sidewalk was blocked. A meter was left. In this street you can see pedestrians only once in a while.

Both facts - sitting down without asking and having a buggy blocking the half of a sidewalk that is actually not used - were discussed with us by the waitress extensively when she arrived. We accepted it but where a bit confused about the reception.

A minuted had passed by when three employers of the restaurant came out an started discussing the position of the buggy ostentatiously. That was the point when we said that we accept the communication's culture of the restaurant but that we do not feel welcome in this surrounding.

Later in the evening, when we came back from another restaurant around the corner, the two tables were still occupied. The rest of it was empty.

Si possible zero etoile! Alors ce soir pour nous c etait la belle colombe, ayant attaquer un régime draconien une amie me propose d aller dans ce restaurant je lui dis ok mais que je prendrai une salade et un café pour ne pas faire d’écart et rester dans le light... la gérante vient prendre notre commande, mon amie prend un plat a base de viande je demande la salade de crudité de saison car c est la plus légere, et là à ma grande surprise elle me dit que je suis obligée de prendre un plat avec sinon « elle ne gagne pas sa vie » non mais allo la terre?! Je lui dis alors «  ok je vais prendre un truc a boire en attendant que mon amie mange »( je ne voulais pas gener ma copine qui la connait un peu... elle me repond «  ah bon vous venez au restaurant pour ne pas manger? » je suis consternée elle m’ imposée un plat a base de viande que je ne voulais pas mais que j ai pris pour ne pas gener mon amie et en plus elle a ete desagreable au plus haut point tout au long du service... Ah et j oubliais j’ ai eu le malheur de demander ma viande suite sans matiere grasse elle m a dit «  vous allez attendre car c une demande particuliere » Biensur je l ai pris en doggy bag pour chez moi mais serieusment la femme me fait la leçon sur le monde de la restauration alors que je suis moi meme serveuse et que je sais que ce qu elle a fait c est tout simplement du forcing... PS je precise que la salade de saison apparait sur la carte des plat a la carte.... je ne comprend tj pas Enfin bref vous l aurez compris je...

I hated been inside .2 lady's work ther rush stress me to make order in 3 minute no time to read what in ugly menu .way how printed is very abstracted u can see propely. You can't readed....one of them oh my goodness no smile ungry ...What blody custmore service .food is okay most of it.i took tuna salads. Tuna rubbish never tasted worst then that.Total merde experience a cet resutrant jamai revenire a recomended to any freind of mine...i have my pain in my stomack because tuna looks...
