This was one of the best dining experiences I've had in many years.
The food can only be described as a "greatest hits anthology" of regional cuisine. Every dish was spectacular. The lamb shank, mushroom and duck pasta, oysters, and camembert "fondue" platter were la crème de la crème. The only reason we didn't have dessert was because we literally couldn't eat anything more.
The service was utterly immaculate. Our hostess was the kindest, most attentive, and most joyous human being we could've been graced with. She cared for us like her own children. We couldn't speak a lick of conversational French, and she barely spoke English, but with a combination of gestures, common words, and Google translate, communication went swimmingly. It was like having a home-cooked meal at your French aunt's country home.
Come here for the experience of a lifetime (but make sure to stop at an ATM beforehand as they only take cash). Take your closest friends along and it will be worth your while - you'll build a memory that will...
Read moreIn the middle of this lively, colorful district is a small French restaurant with around 16 seats.
A reservation is required and can be easily made online. We arrived at 7 p.m. and of course at the moment when the restaurant was opening and no French people were going to eat. The cook was present but the service staff was not yet. It was charming to watch the chef trying to do the service, it seemed a bit shaky.
No matter, we had time (everyone in France should have, otherwise you can't enjoy life) and the service person came a short time later.
The cuisine is authentically Provencal and specializes in seafood. Fresh oysters in enormous sizes were available traditionally or gratinated. The squid and lamb had a sauce you would want to bathe in. Luckily there was delicious baguette and we enjoyed the day here at Chez Nous.
Note: No card payment possible! This is no longer up to date and almost led to a star deduction. But the experience was too good to...
Read moreAmazing restaurant, my first experience with French food is definitely a surprise. They don't have too many dishes on menu, but each is cooked with patience and enthusiasm. I found it while searching for a traditional local food "Pieds et Paquets"(only few restaurants have it because it's very difficult and time consuming). We also ordered the snails🐌 and squid🦑 salad as starters. All dishes were much more than my expectations. Fresh ingredients. The lady doesn't speak English well, but was super friendly to know if we like the dishes(not like those formal greetings in big restaurants, the lady really cares the feelings from her customers). Indeed we really enjoyed the food. We also had dinner there. We had dinner very late, so many dishes were out of stock. The lady served us with two fishes(though we ordered only one), but billed us by the price of only one fish. Chez Nous was definitely the best restaurants I have ever experienced in France 🇫🇷 during...
