This is not an angry guest review. Most of my reviews are good, but this was catastrophe. First, at the entrance, the owner, (I think), addresses my wife with Bonjour, but she was busy with the 3 year old kid, she didn't hear him. Then he said Bonjour again with slightly raised voice, and I looked at him and said that she doesn't speak French. So,it was a bit tensed entry. We set inside and were not hungry, wanted a drink and a bite to eat. I had a beer and Italian plate, (not even Italian plate). That plate was horrible. See the photo. I almost broke my teeth on parts of olive bone in olive puree. I stopped eating. The other thing had smell of urine. Sometimes it happens when you order kidneys but this was some fish puree or patê. Tomatoes and lettuce I am not going to comment. Three, or four thinnest grissini and smoked paprika in vinegar which was good. I left most of my plate uneaten. The pancakes were dreadfull. I cannot belive that I was in a country famous for crepes. Cold, bad even when they were made, probably day before, or that morning. Just terrible taste. I have never been so disappointed in any restaurant in the world. My wife wanted to protest but I said no. They will see our plates full and will ask us why. They saw it, but they didn't ask a single thing. Just gave us the bill. I guess they knew it was bad. I think that the waitress was ashamed but had to be quiet. The owner passed several times, but didn't care.
BEST TO AVOID!
Later, I read a few bad reviews. It was my mistake that I didn't read the reviews before. Just terrible from start to finish.
Again, I am not an angry customer, I am just someone who is in the same business and I know everything about it from the scratch since my family has a restaurant for generations now and we know food and we know management and preparations of the food and customer service, so you can't fool me.
I am sorry but this...
Read moreJust a heads-up—this restaurant has nothing to do with the one at L’Entrecôte du Huitième, located at 13008, which was excellent. Unfortunately, our experience here was pretty bad, especially considering how pricey it is.
We got there around 7 PM. There were a few people sitting outside, but we chose to eat inside. Right from the start, there was no “Bienvenue,” no smiles—nothing that made us feel welcome. The manager didn’t seem friendly at all.
They brought us a few pieces of bread with cheese, which were okay, but we sat there waiting for menus for over 10 minutes. There were three staff members around, some even looked at us, but no one came over to take our order or even say a word.
What really bothered us was that another group came in after us, and the manager went straight to them, took their order immediately, and were served within fine minutes.
At that point, we decided to leave. The whole vibe was off, and it already felt like we wouldn’t enjoy the food because of how the experience started.
Maybe others may have had better experiences, but ours was far from satisfactory. On the bright side, we ended up discovering a charming restaurant near the Vieux-Port, where the food was excellent, the service warm, and a cozy view of the old French streets. Totally...
Read moreThis was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, the staff clearly ignored us and made us wait for more than an hour because we didn’t speak French, despite the restaurant being almost empty.
We ordered the entrecôte menu, which was supposed to include wine. Instead, they brought us Coca-Cola without asking or explaining why, and later tried to charge us extra for it. We never received the wine we paid for.
The food itself was a big disappointment. The entrecôte was bland and the sauce was swimming in oil, making it almost inedible. For the high price we paid, we got barely 10% of the quality and service we expected.
This place completely failed both in customer service and food quality. I strongly recommend...
