I visited for brunch solo, and I ordered a cappuccino, immunity shot, and the eggs benedict with salmon. The immunity shot was delicious, but they took the word “shot” too seriously. I would argue the portion was too small for the price. The cappuccino was standard, and I liked the latte art they added. The eggs benedict was flavorful despite being served cold. I understand avocado and salmon should be served that way, but I did expect for the egg and toast to be warm. Either way I ate the whole thing as like I said it was tasty.
When I finished the benedict and one of the workers removed my plate, they offered me something sweet to finish my meal. I was full, so I declined. Another worker came over to check in and make sure everything was good, and I assured them everything was delicious. Overall, it was an okay brunch made better by the food and drink. But I would not visit again because I felt rushed out of the restaurant.
I had been sitting for only a short time, and I had just finished my food and was taking the last sip of my coffee when my server brought the bill over unprompted. This place is good for an easy meal, especially if you’re in a rush, but I would not recommend it if you’re looking to sit and relax for more...
Read moreDeia was recommended by our Fada Bike Tours guide who was clearly a bit of a foodie. I’ve given four stars in recognition of it breaking the usual mould of French restaurants. In food terms it does this by offering delicious dishes which are common in the UK and Australia but rare in Europe. Crushed avocado on toast being an example. And clearly their formula is working well in Marseille. There was a queue twenty people long when we cycled past at lunchtime - no bookings taken. We went back at 2.30pm and only had to wait five minutes. Perhaps because we were there after the midday rush they were sold out of two of their juices and the service was three star. I’m also giving three stars for ambience. I believe Deia has only one site currently but it looks as if it’s set up to be a chain. And I wouldn’t be surprised if there were ten in a year’s time if the concept is profitable and the capital is forthcoming. However the interior is on the mass market utilitarian end of the spectrum. Given its brand name one would expect something a bit more creative and evocative whilst not losing the essentially fast food nature of...
Read moreAfter travelling around France we (group of 3) were excited to try Deia's food. I had spent time researching the perfect place to visit in Marseille. We waited and waited and waited and waited in line. We were at the front of the line and then 10 people behind us were seated before us. All in groups of two's. We watched as the staff selected people behind us in the line with a meek "soon" being said. Then we saw 2 people who were waiting behind us get sat on a table for 3. Disappointing and with no explanation. Once one of us confronted a staff member and we were seated straight away and while walking through downstairs noted 2 empty tables and then upstairs 5 empty tables. I still can't understand why 10 people were seated before us? The coffee was not worth 5 Euro. The food was fine. When were were leaving one staff member said good-bye and the kitchen staff made a snickering laugh. I wouldn't visit here again. It impacted the start of our day negatively when we were just hoping to have a nice meal in a new city. The situation seemed immature. The way your staff handled us is a let down to...
