La Rôtisserie de Marinette — Restaurant in Marseille

Beautiful and delicious restaurant found on our last day in Marseilles. What a way to say goodbye with a bang with such delicacies from an incredible chef and restaurant owner. If you're a beer lover you MUST try the owner's own brew. An artisanal beer with the perfect balance of hops from any other. We ordered the charcuterie plate with homemade butter, and homemade ham. So good. We then had the BBQ pork ribs (accompanied by a salad and mashed potatoes) and BBQ chicken (accompanied by mashed potatoes and a fluffy egg muffin with olives). The BBQ was a homemade sauce that was incredible, tomatoes with honey. Not overly sweet at all, very savory and a twinge of tartness for balance. Ended with the champagne mousse. My goodness. I've never had any mousse like it. It is not the custard type of mousse from North America, it is a hybrid with a texture between a cloud-like cake with the spring of gelatin and richness of a creamy egg custard. Incredible dinner. 👏👏👏👏 You will not regret stopping here, but you will regret not having done so. Cannot leave Marseilles without your palate paying respects to this jem by the beach.

The food is delicious Corsican food and some of the portions gargantuan, like the pork ribs my husband ordered done in a delicious Corsican sauce. I had a fresh steak tartare that was thinly cut with a knife (and not ground like they do in some places) but what made it really special was the fact it was served with Corsican condiments. The food alone would have been enough for a really lovely evening but they went above and beyond to make a special occasion truly unforgettable. When we arrived the owner gave us the warmest reception and asked the waiter to give us a free glass of sweet Corsican champagne (such a revelation we asked to take a photo of the bottle). The waiter himself was a breath of fresh air, funny yet professional, quick and a genuine pleasure to be around. He also handled dealing with a native French speaker whilst also simultaneously conversing in English with my husband. Highly recommended! Best meal we had in Marseille. And as if all this weren’t enough, they gave us a 20% discount as we booked online with the promotion...

We happened upon this great restaurant while walking by. The owner is amazing! Staff is amazing! Food is amazing! Don’t hesitate to come here. We told some others as they were walking by to eat here and they weren’t disappointed. The owner told us about the menu in English and made us welcome the entire time.
