Le 13 — Restaurant in Marseille

Worst restaurant service ever!! After a full day exploring Marseille we wanted a nice dinner so picked one near the water with a good menu and good atmosphere.

We sat down at the restaurant at 8:15pm (being generous) ordered drinks and food by 8:20ish. By 9:00pm other tables were beginning to be served. By 9:15pm even tables that arrived a good 20/30 minutes after us were being served. By this point we were tipped off.

The waiters avoided us like the plague, until the guy who took our order came up and said you ordered the gnocchi yeah… it was never placed so the kitchen never got it. This was the waiter that took our order!

It’s around 9:30pm, no apology throughout this experience and the tried to get us to order again/put another order through. When we said not to put the meals through we would prefer to leave, he had the audacity to say “eeee if you’d like too”.

We were not given an apology and were still expected to pay for our 2 non-alcoholic drinks that cost 7€ in total. To finish it off and make us more angry, when leaving we were told thank you very much.

I sincerely don't know why this place isn't better known. It has the Marseille specialty, bouillabaisse, for the very reasonable price of 28-29€ (forgot the exact price). Every other restaurant I searched had it for around 50-70€. Maybe it doesn't have as many varieties of fish or something, but who is keeping track of different species of fish in a soup?? And why would you charge/pay 50-70€ for what is essentially glorified fish soup?? Anyway, I thought this restaurant's bouillabaisse was very good. I was super into it. I'm glad I had a chance to try it on my last night in Marseille. Paired quite well with their house white wine (8€ for 50cl). We also ordered grilled shrimps which came peeled with a creamy, cheesy risotto for 24€ - SO delicious, I highly recommend it. Pathetic Service, No food.

Sat down and ordered by 8:15 and by 9:10 servers were avoiding our requests to talk. Witnessed a server refuse to answer how far away another tables meal and one family only receive 1/4 of their meals. By 9:30 (75 mins) the waiter who took our order informed us the kitchen never received our order, yet could still recite it to us. Never received an apology and even tried to get us to reorder.
