Visiting the Marseille Soap Museum was a fantastic experience! For only €2.50, we were treated to a beautiful and educational journey through the history and tradition of Marseille soap-making. One of the highlights was learning about the traditional techniques and ingredients that make Marseille soap so unique. As a person with a passionate interest in soap making I was very disappointed by the „tour“. The unfriendly staff lets you wait a long time to then not tell you anything you cannot read on the posters by yourself. Questions do not seem to be welcome and are answered short, unfriendly and incorrect. The only one who is really friendly seems to be the newest member of the team - hope is, she can bring a different attitude to the place. We also visited at cours julien, where people take more time to explain. But even there you can see (and learn from them directly) that soap making for them is not a passion, but just a job they do. You can feel that! Hope remains that someone comes to this business and explores the possibilities and love for this ancient craftsmanship.

It can be interesting for smaller children and the fact that the „tour“ is very short will help.

But for purchasing soap, I honestly recommend...
