We 2 people ate already but just saw the seafood soup looks good on the picture so we came walked into this restaurant ordered 1 soup and 1 cream brûlée plus a beer. However, it charged extra 10 euro on our bill, the server gave us the explanation as “you pay for the other person for not eating”, and pointed out it was written on the menu (the menu in French). We were confused since we ordered 1 plate and 1 dessert and plus drink, we were not only just ordered 1 thing. Both the waiter/watress service were great in here, but to the owner, I just don’t think it’s a good way doing business like this.

For the food, the soup was a bit salty, but other than that, the seafood is fresh and great portion. Mussels were juicy (not shrinked or empty shell) and the prawn is so big! That’s the part...

I have to say I’m very surprised by the Google review score (3.3 at time if writing) because our experience was absolutely fantastic!!!

We had a terrible experience in a restaurant down the road where we waited 2.5 hours for food and never got it. But when we arrived at Casa Nova, all our stress melted away.

Our waitress was super-nice, uber-efficient and our food arrived incredibly quickly. We had moules frite which were great, good portions, decent sauce! Afterwards we had the tiramisu and ice cream. We have both had better versions of each before (admittedly in Italy so not a fair comparison) but they were still good.

In my opinion the waitresses made our evening so enjoyable (even chasing me down once I left without my camera bag...) so 5...

Would you like to feel ripped off? Do i have the place for you! When I sat down, the host warned me not to leave my phone on the table, lest some thief come by and whisk off with it. That should have clued me in to his mindset. It has been a very long time since I have felt this violated by an enterprise. Took me back to junior high school cafeteria. Seriously. Old, shrunken mussels. Foul-textured cod. (The use of a North Atlantic fish should have been a tip-off). Industrial green beans. How can this place have more than a 2 star rating?!? Cooking the books must be where their...

Casa Nova is a beautiful restaurant with a stunning view of the Vieux Port and Notre-Dame de la Garde. The food is absolutely delicious and of high quality, showcasing the best of Mediterranean flavors. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure every detail is taken care of. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, perfect for a leisurely meal while enjoying the fantastic scenery. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Marseille!

Amazed at the number of negatives. I'm quite a fussy eater and although the food wasn't outstanding, it was good and I enjoyed it enough to go back the next day. The steak was unseasoned and a cheaper cut but not surprising for the price. The mussels were great though. Service was also wonderful both times, very friendly and helpful and switched to English when my French was a bit pitiful.
