A member of my party ate glass in her dessert
After our group of 10 finished eating, our server told us that if we wanted to split the check evenly, we would each be charged an extra 3€ because we were below the minimum charge of a party of our size. The 10 of us had decided to all split meals—in total, only ordering 5—so a split check would equal 27€/person when the minimum expected is 30€/person. This made sense to us, and we were willing to just pay the 3€/person, but our server told us that in order to make the most of the 3€, we should order desserts, so as to not “pay for nothing.” Therefore, 3 of us ordered dessert and one of those was an ice cream. The glass that the ice cream was served in had chipped and my friend ended up eating some small pieces of glass, thinking it was just ice. After we informed our server and told her we didn’t want another, she took the ice cream back and brought out another one. We insisted we did not want it and she took that back, too.
When we finally got the check, we then noticed we had an extra charge of 4€/person. We asked—who we believed to be the manager—why we had this charge a) after ordering desserts we thought would cover our minimum charge and b) was 1€ more than previously stated before we ordered dessert. We also informed this person of the situation with the consumed glass, expecting any form of an apology, but just ended up feeling more confused. They explained that the 4€ is a service fee for “cutlery” such as bread and water. However, if we had known we would have been charged this fee regardless, we would not have ordered desserts and spent more time at...
Read moreWe had a very disappointing experience here. We asked to sit at a table for just 20 minutes to enjoy a drink and the view — nothing more. Despite many empty tables, we were told all were "reserved," and that you can only sit if you're having a full meal. No exceptions, no flexibility.
When we asked again, politely, we were met with unfriendly, dismissive attitudes. Honestly, the way we were spoken to was surprisingly rude. A beautiful location doesn’t make up for poor...
