As we waited for menus we watched two other tables of people get tired of waiting and leave without ever having received menus. We decided not to wait and asked for menus. Two of the four salads were not available, but this information was not shared until after we had perused the menu. (A woman at the table next to us didn’t find out her salad wasn’t available until she had been waiting for it for more than half an hour!)

There were 3 wait staff (edit: 1 serving, 1 helping her carry plates and another person working at the pizza oven inside) working; although busy, not all the tables were full. We could see the food as it came out of the kitchen. We watched as our salads sat for ten minutes as our waitress wandering around the coffee/counter area inside (by the pizza oven) and chatting with other employees.

All told, it took 45 min for us to receive two salads. Sadly my salad was full of inedible stalks, which shouldn’t be served in any restaurant salad. It wasn’t like one or two fell in - there were NINE in my salad alone.

This is the worst service I’ve encountered in 40 years of traveling on 5 continents. Truly an awful way to start our time in Marseille.

Side note for the manager who thinks we didn’t eat at your restaurant: we booked in advance by calling +33 4 91 59 22 02. I’ve added a photo showing the four salads (not 6) on your menu and I’ve indicated which ones were not available Sunday evening. Also, a counter does not mean your place is a bar. There IS a counter in your restaurant, between the pizza oven...

We arrived in front of this restaurant on the 14th July (a sunday) at 18h45. Straight away a waitress asked us if we wanted to eat and we asked if it was ok to get served now to which she replied "with pleasure". So we sat there, and ordered Pizzas, drinks, steak tartare and pulpo salad. We were served supeer quickly and everything was super tasty. We ended the diner with deserts that were all super tasty. The waitress were so nice and super efficient. All the staff was great and for me, it was the best 4 cheeses pizza I have ever eaten. I would definitely go back there if I ever go back...

J'adore le Romarin! The owner and family that owns this place is SO NICE despite the fact that I don't speak français. Very accommodating and just nice people. I was a little lost and hungry my first time in Marseille, but they stayed open just to feed me. They care about people. Also, the food is AMAZING. I ate the lasagna, pizza and tiramisu. All of it was AMAZING. Also the restaurant is very clean and had a great atmosphere....

Very pleasant place to eat and relax. I had Tagliatelles aux noix de saint jacques and scallops were tender, fresh and tasty. My other half ordered Brochette de Poulet Mariné which is Marinated Chicken Skewer and it was decent meal nicely seasoned. You can order with it veggies or home made fries which were delicious. The waitress and service is also very kind and helpful.
