Having been incredibly uninspired by the ‘Indian’ restaurants in Marseille, which are tourist traps with bland food, Google kindly offered Lulu’s as a beacon of hope. Situated in a mini food hall called Populo, similar to the Market Halls format in London, Lulu’s offers authentic dishes that aren’t afraid to go heavy on the spicing, by which I don’t mean chilli heat, but flavour. A great cafe style menu, super quick service and a wonderful welcoming owner in Lucy, this place will satisfy your curry craving any time of day. I visited on a Tuesday lunchtime and tried lamb samosas with assorted dips and a chicken biryani. Wonderful flavours and great portions. Returned the next day and enjoyed mutton curry and the same keema samosas. Read moreOur winter vacation in Marseille has been amazing for us. And Lulu’s is one of our favourite Indian finds till now. Gorged on absolutely delish dal, chane and chicken biryani. But the samosas - those crispy vegetable lip-smacking tiny wonders- take the cake! I am from India and a bit of a self proclaimed samosa connoisseur and this one hits the spot for me 😀
