This place is a super affordable seafood restaurant where locals come to eat, and the restaurant have their own refrigerated delivery trucks parked outside.
🦪Oysters 🦪 Definitely a must-order. Many diners come here just for the oysters. These oysters are different from the large, thick ones you find in Canada. They're smaller but exceptionally delicious. They're much fresher than those rapidly frozen and sent to various seafood markets. Plus, they don't have any strange flavors like rust. To put it simply, any oysters with strange flavors are due to poor water quality or lack of freshness.
🦪Razor Clams Surprisingly, there's no unpleasant fishy taste in these razor clams. Instead, they have the springiness of jellyfish skin, and there's no odor. These are the best razor clams I've ever had, completely different from what you find in supermarkets. It's like the feeling of a child who has only seen the forest on a screen and then, for the first time, experiences the real green and the scent of the earth in the forest. It's an indescribable delight.
🦪Clams These are incredibly fresh too, although they still have a bit of sand in them that hasn't been entirely purged. Each clam is firm and much tastier than what you'd find in city supermarkets.
You can try other types of seafood, but overall, none are as cost-effective as these three. The value for the price is exceptionally high, much better than...
Read moreWe have visited this place in August 2023. ⠀ 🦪We wanted to have lunch in some place where fresh oysters were served, and we made a choice, based on reviews on Google maps, of this small family restaurant and did not fail.
⠀Its owners grow mussels and oysters right here on the Lake Thau. The view of their plantations, located near the shore, opens directly from the terrace of the restaurant. We decided to take a menu - 36 euros for two persons - each person gets a plate with 6 mussels and 12 oysters, as well as a pie - a typical pastry for this region, very tasty 🤤 (It's called „tielle“, is stuffed with tomatoes and some seafood - usually octopus or squid). And a bottle of wine🍷Since I was driving, I asked for water, and they brought me a bottle at no extra charge. And we took the unfinished wine with us 🙃 ⠀
👍🏻I highly recommend this place - a simple one, with a family atmosphere, very cozy, the service is friendly. They hardly speak English, but they try to understand you and help, if you have...
Chez La Tchepe, a small restaurant not to be missed. A restaurant with a family and friendly atmosphere. Good-natured, young and friendly staff, a Breton-looking, very jovial master ecallier, everything for the success of this restaurant on the edge of the Etang de Thau. It was always full when I was there. Ah I was no longer hungry, but I would come back after seeing their ice cream cups. Just be careful not to take the card, cash payment or French check. But that's just a detail. I recommend this restaurant with its...
