I’ve lived in Philly, Brooklyn, Berlin and Paris, and the one thing that makes a place feel like home is having a bar or cafe that feels great to just walk into. I was nervous about moving to a smaller city like Montpellier, that I wouldn’t be able to have a connection to my neighborhood like I had with others. The owners and Staff at De la Sierra put those fears to rest after the first visit over a year ago. Not only is it apparent they care about their clients, they also care about their product and the vendors that provide it. I have traveled all around the world tasting coffee and I have yet to find a better coffee specialist than Enzo at De La Sierra. He grew up on a coffee farm, sources his own beans, is an expert roaster and chemist. He has perfected the science of coffee to deliver an experience that other coffee shops can only dream of. Consistently great coffee and lovely atmosphere. Really friendly, top-notch people working here. I'm a regular. Montpellier desperately needed a coffee shop like this, with plenty of room outdoors to sit and indoors (to chat or work). Plus, there's a family connection to one of the coffee growers. Laptop-friendly. (Plus, if you go, maybe you'll be lucky enough to catch Kobe.)
