So my brother and I just returned after having dinner at Le Puja a while ago, and we can say this is definitely not an Indian restaurant. I've never seen an actual Indian restaurant in so many countries in Europe mistreating and not willing to welcome Indians as customers. The two women only seemed to care and be nice to European customers while my brother and I kept waiting even for our order to be served in time. While they had happy conversations with European customers, we weren't even asked if we needed anything else or how the food was.
So they served the samosa, lassi and the naan au fromage right in the beginning, and as we finished the samosa, our naan was getting cold and we kept waiting too long for palak paneer to arrive. When we finally asked them to serve it, we were vaguely told not to worry and that naan is served in the beginning. Well I've been to several Indian restaurants across Europe so I do know quite well what is served when. But their attitude towards us was way too indifferent. I believe when you run a business, you don't be selective about your customers' origins.
Finally the palak paneer arrived, it barely had any paneer in it, and it tasted extremely bad. We just ate whatever we could with the naan that had already turned cold, just to get done with dinner and not end up being hungry for the night, but the way we were made to feel as Indians was such an upsetting experience! Highly disappointed, definitely not...
Read moreI looked for the best indian restaurant in montpellier. Walked 20mins to get there. It was extremely noisy and full. Not room for one person (even though there was a small table left maybe they use it for service) i said no problem. Can i do take away? Sure for take away you have to go out of the restaurant and walk around. Round i go. Find a little wooden counter that leaves us take awayers outside with a view on the kitchen. I was allowed to wait inside if i wished, but it would only be 5 mins to wait. Ok. I don t want to be trouble.I order. Wait 5. get. walk home. Mixed pakora = 6 euro for 2 onion rings 2 slices of eggplant and 2 slices of potatoes dipped in flourdip and fried, then turned completely soggy and not even a dipping sauce or a bit of salad for SIX EURO?? That dish would cost les then 20 cents to make!!! Then. Vegetably curry. I mean it says vegetable CURRY. Curry means "sauce" literally. Well. No sauce. No curry. Just kind of soggy fried veggies with some spice somewhere some fresh coriander over it and... it reeks so bad that i decide against my principle to save the leftover or give it to someone, no i threw it in the bin. This was not a curry and it was long dead!!! Then. Not done. The DALL. The dall was in a big box and filled only the bottom of its container. Also it was swimming in a layer of oil. And not a trace of chilli. Sad. Made me sad. Is this the best montpellier can bring to the...
Read moreIf you're hoping to eat an authentic Indian/Pakistani food, do yourself a favor and DO NOT go to this restaurant. We ordered a lamb handi and fish curry and they tasted sweet, yes SWEET and COLD. The order came within 2 minutes of ordering so it's obvious that they just took the dishes out of the freezer and heated them up. The sad part is that they didn't even know how to heat them up properly. It doesn't end there. We ordered chai with milk and it tasted like I'm drinking water with ginger. I have never tasted a worse Chai in my entire life. Their taste is catered for foreigners, hence it's sweet instead of spicy which an original Pakistani/Indian food is supposed to be. It was a traumatic experience. They have some Indian religious artifacts inside the restaurant but they need to realize that putting Indian artifacts in the restaurant alone would not make you an authentic...
