Have eaten at O Cabanon close by every time after spending the morning at the beach we decided to try this place. That was a mistake. We should have known after walking passed two full restaurants that this one being almost empty was a bad sign. Staff was not very obliging refusing to substitute Naan for rice. Starters were terrible. They did not taste freshly prepared. Worst onion bhaji we have ever tasted. One slice of onion surrounded by dough. There was a dead fly under a slice of tomato. They had a child menu so we thought it would be child friendly. My 3 year old daughter started to cry very loudly but we immediately got her to stop. Despite her now being silent the waiter felt the need to slap the table in front of her and shout hey at her. Being three she was of course afraid after a strange grown man shouted at her. I said we would pay for what we ate and leave. We were given the bill for the main course and deserts despite just having finished the starters, Had to argue that we should not have to pay that. Perhaps with more care to the food and respect for customers this place could be as full as the restaurants next store. In future I will follow the locals to the full...
Read moreTerrible service! After main course the chef comes out to ask us how the meal was and starts to take some plates away. He interrupts our conversation and asks us where were from and what were doing here (annoying but okay till here) he then says, as a joke i assume: ,,You can go do the dishes after“ and added: ,,as a woman u like that“ - in my eyes thats a very inappropriate thing to say in a waiter-customer-relationship. Killed our mood and made us feel even more uncomfortable. At the beginning, when we ordered, we felt constantly pushed to get a more expensive choice than what we originally wanted. The food was also pretty mid and not worth this amount of money. I cannot recommend this place and would never go back...
Read moreEverything is homemade! The bread is amazing; we had the paratha and cheese naan. Both breads were still inflated with hot butter on top when they came to the table. The lassis are fresh made and were frothy and light. Samosas are almost never homemade in a restaurant… but these are! The filling is fresh and perfectly seasoned. The curries were different than what we usually eat, but both were winners. The egg curry is so unusual, but we loved. The eggplant curry had large pieces of fried eggplant, and we truly enjoyed it! Thank you so much for such a fun dinner...
