After I ordered my food they came back to me after 20 minutes to inform me that they couldn't serve my crepe. When I wanted to order something else, the waitress just left and I had to wait for another 15 minutes until the other waiter finally noticed me. When he took my (second) order I received my beverage after some time. 45 (!) minutes later my food still didn't arrive so I walked in to talk the waiter. He informed me that they felt like they should serve all other guests first, because they came in later but were able to place the right order at the first attempt. When I informed him that I had to leave, he told me that my food was just now being prepared in the kitchen. So I waited for another five minutes to get it as a takeaway.(it was wrapped up in tinfoil and didn't look or taste that good) When I wanted to pay, he informed that the card reader was broken, even though that he assured me that card payment was possible when I first sat down. I told him that I could just PayPal the owner then. After some internal discussion in the kitchen they refused and told me to get some cash. So I had to walk to the only ATM nearby and had to pay extra fees for withdrawing cash to pay them. This creperie is confused about it's own menu and has terrible service at best, but from my point of view they are just harassing foreigners for their amusement. I should have just left, don't know why I trusted in their...
Read moreI hesitate to write a review of Ty Saozon.
If I do the Brits might give the nearby la Poste a miss and head for hear instead. That could be a real problem as the management and I love this small intimate mainly local used creperie.
A familly concern where le patron in his immaculatly pressed trousers and polished shoes is often assisted by a grand child or two.
The Crepes are simply fantastic and the decor authentic
A truly Breton experience.
Don't go there, ever, then there will allways be a table free for the management and me.....
PS since writing this review the patron has retired and the place is now run by what i presume to be his daughter When we walked through the door there was a bit of trepidation, often new owners do not keep things as good as the business they took over.
All worries quickly dispelled - the special of the day was special as they had been walking in the woods and aquired a big stache of fresh wild mushrooms - wonderful.
sorry I meant don't ever go here - I want a table permanently free for me and the management. This place is usually packed with locals - says...
Read moreThe crepes sarrasin were quite good, but I came for the crepe suzette and that was pure industrial and a disappointment. It was a crepe filled with some whitish orange creme and it was only flambéed with grand manier on the table by the waitress. The result was disappointing from a flavor perspective, as no caramel flavors were there and the alcohol was not fully burned.
Failing such an original french dish in a crepe-only place is a very weird and huge letdown. Weird that a non-french person has to tell you this, but maybe look up Jacque Pepins recipe or like any recipe… it ought to be an emulsion of orange, caramellized sugar and grand manier, and not an instagram...
