This is a nice hotel, located in a quiet street within the walled town. It is decorated with window boxes, and the building itself is quite ancient. ||||We selected Les Arcades as it offered a room for three people, and was in the centre of Aigues-Mortes. Our room had a street view, although due to the presence of the Camargue Mosquitos we didn't open it often. The room was nicely decorated in a modern style, and was light and airy. There is a good quality free wifi service. ||||There was a bath/ shower, separate WC and the bedroom was quite spacious. While there's no coffee making facility, there is a coffee maker (€1 per cup) and kettle in the room leading to the pool. The terrace and pool are in sun until about 5pm. ||||There was always plenty of towels, and the room was tidied each day. ||||The owner has no English, so conversations were in my broken French, but we got by. ||||Cars are not allowed within the walled town unless you have a residents pass. However you can drive to the hotel to drop your bags. There is space in front to park for a while. The owner will then give you a car park pass (plastic card) to park in one of three of the town's numbered car parks for free. We found car park 3 was the best, although you do need to wait on occasion for a space to come free. ||||The location is perfect, and in 5 minutes you can be in the central square Place Saint Louis, and only 5 minutes to the car park also. ||||The only thing that wasn't working too well was the air con, as the remote control didn't operate and the unit might have been low on gas as it was feeble in getting the room cooled. ||||We didn't take breakfast as we thought the rate of €11 each - extra for omelette etc, was a little over priced. We instead had breakfast at a cafe in the square for half the cost. ||||In terms of features to improve the experience, a small fridge would be good. On our first trip to Aigues Mortes we stayed at a guesthouse, Hermitage Saint Antione, small rooms but with a fridge for water, wine etc., was a really...

Read moreWe booked this hotel as it looked attractive and was central. The price per room was 105 euros plus tax per night. Breakfast was 11 euros per person in addition. The room was small but well decorated and reasonably well furnished. There was no fridge and no facilities for making hot drinks. One small bottle of water was provided. The shower room was extremely small, the inside of the door was dirty and the shower head would not stay in position on the rail and 'flopped down' making it extremely difficult to shower. The toilet also had to be flushed 2/3 times in order to stop the water running continuously which was noisy in the night. There were no staff in the hotel and it was not possible to get a coffee or tea in the lounge area. Breakfast was extremely poor for the cost of 11 euros per person with cereal, yoghurt, fruit and eggs all being extras. It was basically bread and a croissant each with jams, butter, tea or coffee and a glass of fruit-juice. We live in France and understand what a continental breakfast is and this was poor by most standards. The restaurant was closed and access to the pool area was locked although it was far to cold to use the pool. The lady who was running the hotel did apparently have an illness in the family but with the greatest of sympathy, this should not impact on...
