Rude and slow staff.

Terrible layout during covid, literally 50 students downstairs singing, chanting within inches of each other.

0 sign of social distancing. 0 sign of sanitising publicly used door handles, toilets, tables or bar tops. 0 sign of hand santising pool cues or pool tables increasing risk to comsumers. 0 sign of a one-way system or any form of covid-safety measures showing owners don't care a single bit about the health and safety of consumers - just about the profit margins.

Overpriced drinks.

TIP/ADVICE: Bars just 5 minutes outside the city centre doing drinks at half the price.

Bar is imitation Irish, not a single irish song played all night. Just a 2010-2015 spotify playlist of cheesy beats and commercial singalong tunes. Decoration is minimal and also tacky. Mac Carthy should be McCarthy or MacCarthy not "Mac Carthy".

Fake dart board is tacky. Many dirty pool tables super unfortunate and the tables need relevelled/rebalanced as many have a natural dip to them. Multiple broken pool cues also never fixed after weeks of visiting.

Disappointed to say the least. Understandably popular with students but normal customers treated terribly and with contempt at...

I have visited quite some Irish Pubs around Europe and have lived in Ireland. This is by far the worst one. I'm Dutch but I have certain expectations of Irish Pubs. This one doesn't meet any of those. The personell didn't speak a word of English, which imo is very strange for an Irish Pub. Also the guinness was an astonishing 8 euros (as in other pubs in Nancy I must say..) and to play pool costed me another 8 euros for an hour. A very expensive pub without all the Irish touches an Irish Pub is supposed to have. I hope some day Ireland introduces some kind of quality mark. 'This pub received the Irish Craic Quality Mark' or something like that. That would help keep pubs like this off the market. A real discrace for the name...

J'adore! Le lieu est magique, les boiseries, les bibelots d'époque tout crée une ambiance agréable et hors du temps. On peut aussi bien s'asseoir à une table seul pour lire ou se laisser bercer par le bruits des autres conversations, avoir un échange en tête à tête ou au contraire partager une grande tablée pour fêter quelque-chose ou enfin aller faire un billard dans un espace dédié. On y trouve tout ce qu'on peut chercher dans un pub: un (très) large choix de bières et de boissons alcoolisées ou non, de la nourriture pas forcément très équilibrée (je n'ai goûté que leurs succulentes frites maison et leurs excellents burgers et hot dog, mais il y a peut-être plus léger) mais en grande portion et bien réconfortante, des serveurs compétents et qui, au choix, sauront vous conseiller, vous écouter raconter votre vie sur 12 générations ou vous laisser une paix royale. Et une clientèle tout aussi diverse que les possibilités de ce lieu, des vieux (comme moi 46 ans) aux étudiants festifs venus des facs voisines, aux personnes de tous âges et nationalités qui se rassemblent pour échanger dans diverses langues. Bref, comme ce pavé l'indique, ce lieu est ma madeleine de Proust. J'y viens depuis mes années étudiantes à la fin des années 90, j'y suis retourné en tant que stagiaire pour les debriefs dans un endroit sympa puis j'ai perpétué la tradition en y amenant mes stagiaires, mes amis et maintenant mes filles. J'y ai vu la clientèle et le personnel évoluer mais l'esprit de ce pub, lui, est toujours le même. C'est un endroit où on se sent bien, on se ressource...
