Brasserie Le Gambetta — Restaurant in Nice

My girlfriend and I met a new friend here for dinner, and it was awesome. We ate outside on the patio adjacent the square, and it was a great experience. It rained a little bit, but the patio was tented and had extendable flaps as well, so it was perfect.

The food was great, and it was also reasonably priced. My girlfriend and I each had a meat entrée coupled with an appetizer, and we split a side and a dessert. We also had a couple drinks, but our combined bill was under $80 which was awesome considering the quality of the food.

Additionally, we kind of stumbled onto this place because few other places were open the Sunday night before L'Assomption. This place was open, and it worked out great. So, if you're looking for a place with good food that doesn't break the bank and is open at off hours, I highly recommend coming...

Je teste le Bistrot Gambetta. Je tiens à préciser que je suis un client régulier de mes séjours à Nice. Aujourd'hui, cependant, j'ai été déçu. La crêpe Gambetta était médiocre, avec de petites huîtres sans goût. Le plat de ma femme proposait des dorades tout aussi petites… peut-être un peu plus d'attention ? Choisir une huître de qualité plutôt qu'une moins chère, ou une dorade plus appétissante, est une question d'euros, mais la perception de la qualité de ce bistrot historique est différente. Avec cet avis, j'espère contribuer à maintenir la qualité de cet établissement. J'y tiens particulièrement, car il reste mon endroit préféré à Nice et celui que je recommande à mes amis italiens. Very worst dinner. I rarely give comment but it deserves zero star.

Super worst tasteless pasta. The sauce is watery, the mussels is fishy which made the whole pasta fishy.

The quality of steak is ok but they cooked badly. The poured salt unevenly, and some bites become very salty and some normal.

All dishes become cold because they serve all the dishes at once, I think is non sense. And they even serve the oysters after the main dishes arrived.

We wanted to order the fish soup, and the waitress said they dont have it (I guess she means it is sold out), so we didn’t expect we can order it. But few moments later, they served it and billed us.
