Avoid. To sum this bad experience up: a lot of attitude not backed up by any hospitality substance at all. It is basically a bar on the street that dabbles in main courses, if you like to eat tasteless generic dishes while breathing in exhaustion fumes, be their guest. The waiter was rude from the start, dropped the menus, left, came back after 3 min and we asked about house wine if there was a sauvignion blanc. He started a rant about sauvignion being a region of France and that we are in Nice (???) He left visibly upset when we asked for a couple of minutes. Mind you, we were trying hard not to be rude and leave, and to find anything minimally interesting on the menu. Once we made our minds with some innocuous easy options (starter and 2 pizza) we were left just waiting for service. Which we did not complain as we were relaxing to the music. Abruptly came the waiter, took away the seemingly only one wine list from us reprimanding us that we were taking too long to order and he's got to serve other people (???) we were very chill about this and just waited for when he'll find time. Waiter rude in his tone, manner and movements around us. The goat cheese parcels adorned by tom wedges and dry leaves were a joke, some overpriced copy of airoport food. The pizza is NOT a pizza: it's flatbread used as a base and dripping in so much oil it slipped away while under the knife and fed the pigeons instead (a sign!) Having finished my glass of wine with still half of the starter on the plate, I was in desperate need of a second one to help wash down the rest of that dry thing on my plate. I waited, and waited, and waited to see any waitstaff even look in our direction, but was ignored by many. Next to us 2 other ladies were ignored as well, so I knew it wasn't personal. I went inside to order my glass of wine, when I saw all 3 of them waiters standing in front of the bar and chatting up 2 waitresses. I dropped my smile and chill in a second and firmly ordered another glass and went storming to my table. Soon after they probably felt shamed by me having to go order at the bar, the wait staff scrambled all around the restaurant back to their duties. When our rude waiter approached the table he started reprimanding us again that he was busy and had been taking care of others. Coming from the hospitality businesses myself, with decades of experience managing internationally and owning restaurants, husband being an experienced head chef, I told the rude man to just stop because we see what was really going on in the place. Waiter was arguing back saying that he's got 20yrs of experience (show us don't tell us!) and we just asked for the check. Once...

I learned that much of the French Riviera was a part of Italy or Sardinia, and that's why there was so many Italian restaurants in Nice, France. So, we were looking for a more French restaurant, and we choose Brassiere Le Magnan. It's on a busy corner, mostly outside seating, and always a crowd. Lots of choices on the menu and the salmon pasta caught my eye (I know, Italian again). It was very good with small pieces of fresh cooked salmon, and very tasty pieces of smoked salmon too! My wife ordered an amazing looking flambe shrimp dish. Good wine was very inexpensive everywhere, and I paid between $9 to $11 USD per glass, for some tasty chardonnays. Both meals came with a nice salad & bread. The desserts were extremely good looking, and we had nice size cake, one part was like yellow cake with chocolate drizzled all over it, the other part was like a souffle with melted chocolate inside of chocolate cake, and a big scoop of whipped cream...incredible! It was a great experience with great service, and very tasty food, in walking distance, right...

Initially went to sit in for breakfast. Waiter refused to even look at us- we eventually just went up to him and asked if we could sit (in French) he tossed his arms up and said ok. We sat down, there were no menus around and he would not tend to us so we actually found a menu from another table. He kept serving others around us with great service but continued to ignore us. We almost left after 20 minutes of sitting there and he walked over and said nothing so we ordered 2 coffees and nothing else as we were very uncomfortable at the way we were being treated even though we remained polite. Even when we went to pay - the waiter and the barista were nowhere to be found, eventually we spotted them having a smoke together outside infront of the entrance they looked at us and we waved but they proceeded to finish their smoke and make us wait to pay- even when we payed and said thank you he rolled his eyes. Awful and uncomfortable experience. Would...

I recently visited LeMagnan in Nice and would like to share my experience. The establishment is located in an excellent spot with a sea view, creating a pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately, the service leaves much to be desired. I ordered the Escalope de Dinde à la Crème, and it turned out to be absolutely dry and tough to chew. While I was struggling with this dish, the rest of the food got cold, which was quite disappointing. The only saving grace was the excellent cappuccino. If not for that, my visit would have left an even worse impression. Although LeMagnan has potential due to its location and beautiful view, the quality of the food and service need improvement. I hope the restaurant will address these issues in the future.

A very nice restaurant with a view on the sea (at least from some of the outside places). The food was quite good though a bit of salt and garlic would have helped my squid. The linguine with roquefort were pretty good. The chicken with wok noodles were nothing special, so was the starter shrimp tempura (which was not tempura but regular fried shrimp, most likely frozen) which was quite expensive for the dish size. Overall we had a good time but it was fairly expensive considering the portions. Looking at the other tables the pizza looked very good, I might have that the next time.

We were looking forward to our first restaurant in the Magnan neighborhood, but found this disappointing. The welcome was warm but service tended to be very uneven. The food was so-so despite regular restaurant prices. Nobody asked how cooked the duck breast should be (it was overcooked). I had to ask twice for an additional slice of lemon, and then got the thinnest slice possible ! Side orders were misunderstood. The establishment is probably geared towards tourists, as it’s close to the Promenade des Anglais. It’s not an excuse. The wine was good, though!
