If you're after a truly quirky dining experience, this restaurant definitely delivers! The moment you walk in, you're greeted by a giant painting of Tokyo from Money Heist—it’s a bold, over-the-top choice that adds a unique flavor to the place, though it might be a bit much for some. Still, the eccentric decor doesn’t take away from the overall charm.
The owner was incredibly accommodating, greeting us warmly and making sure our experience was nothing short of fantastic. We started with the peppers as a starter, which hit all the right notes—perfectly seasoned and paired with soft baguette and some truly heavenly butter. It was the kind of simple, comforting dish that makes you smile with every bite.
For the mains, we went with the duck confit and the chicken. The duck was absolutely melt-in-your-mouth good, rich and flavorful. As for the chicken—don’t let the photos fool you, it might look a bit cheeky, but trust me, it’s not what you think! It’s barbecued to perfection, smoky and tender, with a deliciously juicy bite.
Now, I’ve seen some reviews claiming the atmosphere isn’t great, but I honestly think this place is worth experiencing. It’s quirky, it’s fun, and while it may not have the usual polished vibe, the food is undeniably amazing. If you’re a tourist, this is the kind of place you’ll want to check out—who knows when you’ll be back again?
Highly recommend it if you’re looking for great food, an unforgettable vibe, and a place that’s just a little bit different...
Read moreThis little restaurant is truly a hidden gem in Nice. There is one man who runs it, maybe one more chef in the back, but who gives you the upmost attention while there. The seating is limited, so if you are a group larger than 2, I would reccomend calling ahead so he can save seats for you. The menu is fixed, either €20 for an entree and plat, or plat and dessert, or €25 for all three. He has a couple choices of wine, either by the glass for €4 or for the table for €15. Very reasonable, especially in Nice. The building itself has a wonderful ambience and decor, with gentle music playing and the menu written over the walls, as well as on whiteboards. The man seemed to understand french and English well, maybe italian as well. He is very entertaining to watch work, as well as a prankster. He brought out water in an old champagne bottle to the table next to us and told them it was the champagne they had ordered. They were very confused but he walked away quickly. He finally told them it was water after a few minutes. The food was amazing, prepared fresh per order, and there is a variety of options. CASH ONLY. But you can know exactly how much to bring based on the prices listed earlier. I hope you go here while in Nice to support this business, you will not regret...
Read moreWith 3-course meal being 30€ I was quite worried about the negative feedback - some mentioned the owner being rude, some talked about low quality food. Decided to risk it, as the overall rating of the place is so good. Well worth the risk! Owner went out of his way to find us a table, as the indoor was fully booked and terrace had no chairs left - he literally brought us seats from the restaurant next door. Even though he himself is not very fluent in English, he understood all we requested. I suspect, that like most people, he might come off rude, if you yourself behave arrogantly. About the food - got to try the snails (well seasoned, but be careful, very hot when brought out) and ham (nice and salty, goes well with the complimentary baguette); chicken (sweet sauce, served with potatoes) and duck (literally melts in your mouth, served with mashed potato); chocolate mousse (made from dark chocolate, served cold, perfect for hot weather) and lemon pie (nice and sour, as it supposed to be). What I don't understand, is the math behind their wine - a glass of wine is 4€, half a liter is 15€ and a bottle (0,75l) 30€. And the glass I got served was filled...
