DELI BANH MI- VIETNAMESE STREETFOOD — Restaurant in Nice

Cute little spot! Authentic flavors and delicious food. We ordered the goi cuon with shrimp as an appetizer. I ordered the chicken bun cha and my boyfriend got the pork bbq banh mi.

A few disappointments to explain why I have 3 stars in comparison to all the other rave reviews. They didn’t use the typical Vietnamese rice baguette, it should be light and fluffy like they do in Vietnam. They used a regular wheat baguette. So minus one star for the bread

In the chicken bowl, the sauce was a bit too over-powering, didn’t taste much else besides what the chicken was soaked in. The sauce warmed up the entire bowl, so it was more like a warm salad than a refreshing one. I really don’t recommend the chicken bowl, perhaps it would have been better with another protein option.

There wasn’t any pickled vegetables in either of the entrees, you’d think they would add it as a garnish. The carrots should be pickled, not just regularly chopped.
