Falafel Sahara — Restaurant in Nice

Disappointed during a busy lunch hour with the shop almost full, the owner/boss found it to be an ideal time to yell at his employees! The tongs used in this establishment are polyvalent!! Meaning the same ones that touch raw meat are also used for cooked meats and vegetable toppings for you pita!! At no point did either of the three employees making pitas and cooking the meat switch tongs to handle different food items. Also no gloves are worn. Not to mention the staff leaving the work station with the said tongs and food still in hand!! Allergies aside, On a purely sanitary level I'd say this place is to be avoided until they clean up their act. Only a matter of time before someone falls sick due to their cross contamination. Having said that the employees are super professional and sweet they even apologized for their boss' behavior! They need not put up with his abuse in a professional environment! Such a shame bc concept is great and Nice needs an authentic falafel...

Great Quality Food, But I Felt a Bit Out of Place

I came across this restaurant while looking for halal food options in Nice, and decided to give it a try. The food was definitely high quality, fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. I had the shawarma, which was quite different from the style I’m used to. It wasn’t bad at all, just different.

While I appreciated the effort in the food, I have to admit I felt a little out of place during my visit. As an Arab customer, I sensed a few stares that made me feel a bit self-conscious. Nothing was said, and everyone was very polite, but I didn’t quite feel at ease.

I truly believe food has the power to bring people together, and I hope over time places like this can become even more welcoming to everyone, regardless of background. I’m glad I gave it a try and wish the owners...
