Le Garibaldi — Restaurant in Nice

We ordered the crispy chicken as an entree, the beef rib steak and the chicken skewer for our mains.

The crispy chicken was nice, very crispy and succulent however lacked flavour. It needed seasoning.

The beef rib steak was extremely over cooked and dry.

The chicken skewer was overcooked, dry, bland and pretty much inedible. Not to mention the lettuce that was plopped on the plate and called a salad.. That too was awful with the dressing they used.

Luckily it was happy hour and we got cheap mojitos because they too were inconsistent, each one tasted different and none of them were super delicious .. Bit of a let down when you travel to the opposite side of the world for vacation and your looking forward to a delicious meal that was rubbish.

The atmosphere was great, the place was very busy but that should not effect the quality of the meals.... Maybe the chef was having an off day but we left unhappy. I didn't even...

Le Garibaldi is in a convenient location in the square. The service was fantastic - very helpful and very kind to us despite us being unable to speak much French. Their English was very good and the service was very quick. For the food, we started with the cheese plate as an appetiser. It was delicious, lovely bread and wonderful cheese with a delicious fig jam. For mains we shared the warm goats cheese salad and the pesto gnocchi. The salad was great, very big portion size we didn’t get through all of it, delicious nonetheless. The gnocchi was disappointing. There was a lot of cream in the sauce to the point where you could barely taste the pesto and it ended up tasting quite bland. Overall a good experience, lovely waitstaff and mostly good food but the pesto was not our favourite. Side note, some things were quite expensive - water for the table...

The restaurant includes an ice-cream shop at its side entrance. Last month, on October 25th, my family visited in the afternoon to purchase ice cream. During our visit, we were the only customers in the shop, and there were two elderly staff members present. While the kids were still deciding on which ice cream to choose, one of the staff members repeatedly asked my husband, in a loud voice, "What do you want?" three times. Additionally, the same staff member prevented my kid from taking photos of the ice cream. We were taken aback by this behavior and decided to purchase only two portions of ice cream instead of getting some for all of us. As we stepped outside, another group of customers arrived, and one of them freely took photos of the ice cream in the shop. The service and behavior of that particular staff member were truly unbelievable and...
