I don’t get the good reviews at all. We had just arrived into town and wanted a pizza. This place had good reviews (why???) and was right next to our hotel. I should have looked for the type of pizza oven first because we prefer wood fired versus a flavorless gas oven. The pizza looked and tasted like a thin crust little Caesar’s pizza (low end fast food in the USA). Very little flavor and the bare minimum toppings and sauce. No better than a frozen pizza from the corner store. We got cold pizza slices from the glass display cases at corner bakeries that were much better than this “fresh” pizza. This place had zero atmosphere. A table on the sidewalk would’ve been more interesting while people watching versus sitting in an empty plain white box with bright fluorescent lighting. Service was fine. He took my order and brought the food to the table. I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1 because the pizza was edible, didn’t make us sick, and nothing outrageously offensive occurred. Skip this place if you want a good pizza. Walking around Nice later that evening and seeing delicious looking wood fired pizzas on tables in cute bistros only made the buyer’s remorse worse! Lol. You’ve been warned.
Update…Response to owners response… “Hello, thank you for sharing your bad experience with us. but unfortunately, we judged on our oven which is not a wood-fired oven! why did you order pizza? knowing that you don't like gas fires!”
Because wood fired oven is our preference BUT we have had GOOD gas oven pizzas. I honestly don’t think a wood fired oven would have improved the sad pizza we had. It had the minimum of toppings and those it did have had almost no flavor. We could not understand why this place got good reviews. It definitely is not for the pizza (which is in the name of the restaurant).
“You didn't like the atmosphere and you criticize that we don't have a table outside? why did you come home?”
Because we’re able to overlook a poor atmosphere if the food is GOOD. Good food is the #1 priority. I don’t NEED a table outside. I said a table outside would have been an improvement over the stale, boring dining room this restaurant has. The poor atmosphere of your restaurant only made the experience worse since the pizza was not good at all.
“so when we go to eat a pizza with a negative mind at the base. we can't help but not like the pizza.”
Not true. If the food comes out and is good, that changes the entire experience. Your pizza was not good at all.
“Should you have asked if the pizza was thick? you would have been told NO, and you could have avoided ordering it, and right next door there was a bakery that made thick-crust pizza slices. things you like.”
Again, you misunderstand. All types of pizza can be GOOD. Thin, thick, gas oven, wood oven…they can all be good. Your’s was not good at all. Almost no flavor. Almost no sauce. Barely any toppings.
Rather than argue with our honest experience in your restaurant, you should take this criticism as an opportunity to improve your restaurant’s pizza and atmosphere. Be thankful…we should have made this a 1 star review, but like I said, the pizza was edible and didn’t make us sick, so you...
Read moreI decided to try a pizza at this restaurant after seeing the number of comments on Google. Here is my experience:
Positive points: Good location of the restaurant near the train station Kind staff
Negative points: Pizza dough was undercooked The chicken topping was extremely dry The onions and the pepper topping were uncooked and tough The pizza oil that was supposed to be spicy, was completely tasteless The hygiene and cleanliness don't seem to be a priority in this restaurant: the chef touches custmers' money, credit card and the tray, then prepares the pizza without washing his hands or wearing gloves
Conclusion: As a fan of pizza who tries many pizzerias per year in different places during my trips and considering the awful quality of food and hygiene in this restaurant, two situations are possible: (1) either the owner knows digital marketing very well and has ordered a bunch of positive comments from his friends and "comment agencies" or (2) it was just a pure accident and this is a new trend in the market
THE FIRST SCENARIO SEEMS TO BE MORE...
Read moreI really hope the pizzas are great, because what I got was a hot mess. Did takeout and got the Italian salad, pasta with chicken, cream and mushrooms as well as tiramisu. The salad was salty and meh. Way too much pasta for a salad or my taste. The pasta dish was decent, the pieces of chicken the best part. But the tiramisu… Jesus. As the picture shows it’s a cup of creamy stuff made in a factory somewhere in France. Why would you sell factory made tiramisu? It’s easy to make and charging €4.50 for the cup from a far away factory is simply indecent - the online order form shows a piece of homemade tiramisu. Also, it seems the order wasn’t ready for pickup when I arrived a couple of minutes late, so everything was hastily thrown together. Like I said: hope the pizza is...
