La lorraine — Restaurant in Nice

Pastries that are stale, flavorless, and disappointing. I stopped here after reading the “great reviews” and left wondering how they could possibly be so misleading.

I’ve been on a 30-day road trip from Madrid, visiting over two dozen bakeries and cafés around Spain and France, and this is the only one I felt compelled to leave a poor review for. That alone says a lot.

• The almond croissant was hard, stale, and tasted days old. • The pistachio croissant was worse. artificial, unpleasant, and nowhere near real pistachio. • The brioche was bland and stiff. • And the espresso? Burnt, bitter, and undrinkable.

For a place that seems to pride itself on reputation, there’s serious work to do on product quality, especially the coffee, which is the heart of any café. Until then, I can’t...

"I had a fantastic experience at this bakery I couldn't resist trying their baguette, croissants, and cakes, and they were all incredibly fresh and delicious. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and they spoke excellent English, making the whole experience even more enjoyable.
