Before I start I wanted to comment:
If you can speak French, this can be a good restaurant for lunch or dinner.
If you want a glass of wine from the menu, ask to be served the wine straight from the bottle of the wine you ordered to make sure the wine you've been served is the one you ordered.
If you want water, ask for a free bottle of water, in France water is free in restaurants. If you want branded or sparkling water, remember that you will pay at least €7 per bottle.
If you want "Le plat du Jour" make sure beforehand by asking the waiter that there are still dishes left. I say this because we entered the restaurant at 1:15pm and were already seated, oh surprise! there is no "Plat du Jour" left and you have to go to the Carte which is more expensive.
Having said all that, I explain our experience at this Restaurant. We go to lunch at 1:15 pm and sit inside the premises. We ask for "Le plat du Jour" (Plate of the day) which is more economical, they tell us that there is none, which we thought was strange because of the time we entered the restaurant. We order dishes from the menu, they tell us if we want drinks, we say yes , water and a glass of white wine (8€/15cl) of a specific wine. They brought us the brand water bottle (€7) and we noticed that the rest of the tables had been brought a free bottle of water, we decided don't say anything to see how far they are able to deceive the tourist who doesn't know the language well. They bring the wine, in any restaurant with a bit of dignity, when you ask for a glass of a specific wine, they bring the bottle and in front of the they serve the wine to the client, not in this restaurant, they take the glass of wine from the kitchen already served without knowing what type of wine is in the glass, wrong. The food served is good but a bit sparse, very large plate and little food .
After all these problems, I tell the waiter that I don't plan to pay for the water, since the rest of the tables have been brought water for free, and to me, who doesn't know the language well and I'm a tourist, I can fool them, so I bring them a bottle of water from 7 €. I explain the problem with the wine glass, what I have explained before, I use Google Translate to make myself understand (up to 4 times I explain the problem with the wine) they did not show me the bottle or give me any explanation.
The manager of the restaurant and the waiter come and seeing that I had been tricked, they agree that I don't pay for the water.
Not only will I not return to the Restaurant, but things like this make you think not to return to Nice, white-glove thieves...

I recently had the absolute pleasure of dining at La Vigna in Nice - France, and it was, without a doubt, one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I booked the reservation over the phone from another country, as I was planning to propose to my girlfriend during our visit. From the moment I called, the staff was incredibly attentive and worked with me to ensure every detail of my plan was flawlessly executed.
The level of care and attention they provided was beyond anything I could have hoped for. The entire staff was fantastic, but I have to give special recognition to our waiter Fadoua, who went above and beyond to make the evening perfect. She discreetly helped organize everything according to the plan I had envisioned, and her professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail were exceptional.
The ambiance of the restaurant was romantic, the food was exquisite, and the service was truly five-star. When the big moment arrived, everything fell into place perfectly—the timing, the setting, and the atmosphere were magical. My fiancée was absolutely blown away, and it’s an evening we will cherish forever.
If you’re looking for a restaurant in Nice where exceptional food meets extraordinary service, especially for a special occasion like a proposal, I cannot recommend La Vigna highly enough. They helped create a once-in-a-lifetime experience that we will always remember. Thank you, La Vigna, for making our engagement night...
Read moreLa Vigna is a wonderful restaurant in atmosphere, quality, and je ne sais quoi.
La Vigna was my first meal on my first visit to Europe, and it was fantastic. To walk between the gorgeous water, of the inlet and the stylistically exciting facade of a beautiful city, and stumble across this restaurant was, in itself, a fantastic experience.
Sitting by the water, I was mortified about my French language skills, but the staff were extremely kind, patient, and capable. (in both French and English). There were no issues accommodating a first time traveler and poor-to-mediocre French speaker like myself.
If this review sounds biased, it may be because this was my first experience with French cheese, and specifically Burrata in general, but the light, moist flavorful cheese practically melting over a deliciously seasoned pasta was one of the greatest, first impressions I could have gotten of France and Europe as a whole. The food here is stellar.
It has been six months since eating here, and this is still one of the restaurants I think of regularly. If you want a genuinely lively and lovely taste of southern France, you will most definitely...
