Le Local — Restaurant in Nice

So, one of these bad reviews you sometimes must give! Me and my wife did choose this restaurant as it had some good reviews. How did the evening go then...to start with we did get at a table at a big fan that was so noisy that we could not even speak to each other. Noting you look forward to at a nice evening in a restaurant in Nice to start with. When asking the waiter if we could change to another table, he when ballistic. However, after some discussion we got a new table. We ordered our food, the food arrived, and my wife’s food was what she ordered but mine was something completely different! They said that my food should arrive in two minutes. These two minutes went on to around 10 min. This I perhaps one of the most annoying situations in a restaurant with one person sitting an eating and one not! Presented with the bill we kindly asked to be somewhat compensated (which is quite normal under these circumstances). The response was this is not to be heard of at all, not even a "we are sorry that this happened". Our conclusion unfortunately needs to be that don’t even consider visit...

My husband and I asked for another table and with sighs and gestures we were showed to another one, even worse. We asked again for a better table, note that the restaurant was almost empty, and with even more sighs from the waiter we did get a nice table. My husband did not get the food he had ordered so they had to place another order, which meant I got my meal before my husband. The waiter did not even apologize. When we got the bill we said that an apology and some compensation would be appreciated, the the waiter ignored us totally and left. He came back and just said that we had to pay. We said that we enjoyed their food but that their behaviour and attitude was not ok but the waiter just got more upset and did not at all reflect on his own behaviour. The Antipasti is good. The main course - pastas and rice - are average at best. Much better can be had in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Las Vegas. That's really saying something.

The service lacks any resemblance to the term. In short, there is none. Your meal will take at least two hours longer than it possibly could need to because they will make you wait at least half an hour to order, at least that to receive your food, and even longer to receive your bill.

Forget about trying to make plans according to their stated hours of operation.

Its somewhat trendy, perhaps by Nicoise standards. But nothing to write home about.

Finally, the location - absolutely nothing special by European standards whatsoever. Its on a dirty back alley. You look at a grey wall.
