I highly recommend this place as long as you bring your patience during busy times. This is a wonderful brunch spot located right across the street from the Nice central train station. Most of the staff knew enough English that I could communicate successfully. I will note this place was super busy when I went. My party of 4 was initially told it would be a 20 minute wait for a table, but it wound up being about 45 minutes due to the crowds. However, the gentleman who greeted us apologized several times. We waited outside, and he even brought us a chair when he saw one member of my party walked with a cane. Later on, I saw this same gentleman carry another customer's pram (stroller) up the stairs to the upper floor dining room. Now that is dedication to me! My server, Dounia, was amazing and very friendly. She answered all my questions about the menu and made recommendations. We did have to wait about 20 minutes for our food, but it was worth it! Everything looked and tasted marvelous! I ordered the ham and egg brunch that was served with toast and a small salad. The food came to my table hot, and it was delicious and filling. I finished off with a Nutella crepe and it was so good! The lower floor dining room is small, and while I could hear everyone at my table, it was a little loud and hectic. I still recommend this, but during busy times it can...
Read moreI ordered an iced latte and the barista informed me that the iced latte is not sweetened by default and suggested adding sugar if desired. However, it's worth noting that sugar doesn't dissolve well in cold beverages. It would be more appropriate to use syrup in the preparation process. So, I politely asked the barista to add some syrup to my iced latte, even said I will pay for it if that is a problem (which I finally did). Surprisingly, they gave me a strange look, almost as if I was requesting a complimentary coffee. Despite having various syrups readily available, they insisted on adding plain caramel, which doesn't dissolve easily in cold drinks either. Consequently, my iced latte lacked sweetness and had caramel chunks floating inside. Overall, it was a slightly disappointing experience. 🙂
P.s. Additionally, prior to the iced latte incident, there was a minor mix-up with my husband's order. Instead of the latte he had requested, they mistakenly prepared a tea for him. While mistakes are understandable and can happen, it was concerning to experience multiple errors for a two drinks to go order. This level of service leaves much...
Read moreA quick google search for the best breakfast near our apartment rental and voilà. Made a reservation online at Le Kawa Brunch & Coffee Shop and walked 10 minutes to the location. We were greeted as soon as we stepped in and directed to a QR code for the menu in English. We placed our order at the counter, the cashier presented us with an order number marker and then we were directed upstairs for seating.
About 12 minutes later, a server delivered the order to our table. I ordered the chicken bagel; it was on a fresh baked bagel with great consistency for a sandwich and included breaded chicken, cheddar cheese, emmental and was topped with a perfectly poached egg. It was also accompanied by a dressed wild arugula salad. We also enjoyed the scrambled eggs with bacon, which were soft, creamy and delicious. The third item was maple French toast with fresh fruit. And enjoyed brunch with a Nutella cappuccino.
All three items were amazing and prepared with great...
