Le P'tit Resto — Restaurant in Nice

Came here for dinner during our stay in town. It's a little hidden in the back, by the main street. We did make a reservation a few hours before. A good thing, because the place was pretty full when we showed up for dinner. It's a popular place.

Staff/owner was very friendly. Our Bulldog was welcome here as well. Had a bottle of wine. Ordered the goat cheese salad and escargots for starters. Both fine items. Escargots were great. For the main we've had the maigret de canard (duck breast) and the veal liver. Both with fries - which were really hot and crispy. The liver was nicely done. Great flavour, tender. The only fault in the food was entirely on us: we ordered the duck medium-well. Which it was. Should have ordered it medium. Besides that it was a wonderful piece of meat.

One of my best meals in menton! I wasn’t able to make a reservation so I tried my luck and waited outside the restaurant 10min before it opened at 7pm 🤣 thankfully there were a few tables left!

A lady was managing the service by herself and though being very busy running back and forth, she remained kind, warm and attentive :-) we could communicate in English and the menu is also available in English!

I really really enjoyed the escargots and creme brûlée. Both were cooked perfectly. I also had a mimosa and a veal chop! I was being adventurous w the veal chop as it isn’t smth I would usually eat. I think it tasted alright and not too gamey for my liking.

Nice little place in Menton, would recommend it for anyone. The food was really good. Mostly sea food if memory serves although they had a selection of other things. Not surprisingly being on the coast. Not very expensive. I think I paid about 30 Euro for a beer an entree and a main course. The staff were friendly, spoke good English for those Americans like myself that only speak one language. Also they were very kid friendly, we took an unhappy two year old in and they never batted an eye. They actually brought him a coloring book and crayons.
