La Mandibule — Restaurant in Nice

had a quick bite here and here are my genuine thoughts on their food.

🥗 niçoise salad with chicken (4.5/5): very fresh, nice and authentic seasoning 🍝 spaghetti carbonara (5/5): absolute beast! it had a slightly ‘burnt’ flavour in the sauce that made it extra savoury and of course… tasty!

the only downside was the service. there were quite a few staff around and not many customers, but it still took about 15 minutes just to get someone’s attention for a menu. when i wanted to pay, i waited around 20 minutes for the bill. i even asked two waiters and it never came, so i ended up going to the counter myself just to pay.

also, i think you’re not allowed to just order drinks here. i saw someone get asked to leave because they weren’t eating. just drinks? nope. you have to order food. kinda weird,...

It was good food all the way until the end when the host waiter asked me if i wanted to doggie bag my salmon pasta. I said yes please, because I ordered a set and knew I had dessert coming.

How could u offer someone to pack, and then throw it away?!?!?! He didn't even say sorry or wasn't even apologetic, he said no salmon. I forgot. Throw. No more. How can should people be in service. Is he being racist since I am asian?

Very disappointed by his service, and i left in tears. I purposely saved the more than half of the salmon as it was my favourite, but it was thrown away. I am...

The restaurant is really well located, with tables exactly in front of the sea, beatifull view, specially at sunset. The service is great, and the food is good an is fair related to the price that I found cheap comparing to the other restaurants nearby. The octopus was properly cooked, and the potato was tasty despite the portion size that could be a bit larger. The pizza was delicious and fair to the price. The dessert wasn't bad but nothing special. The white wine (Pinot Grigio - Italy) wasn't bad as well. Overall it was a good experience....
