Les Vents d'Anges — Restaurant in Nice

Owner is shockingly rude… we are regular customers and walked in tonight asking if we could order dessert to go, she said no they don’t do dessert to go so I asked if we could eat it there. She got really aggressive saying no we can’t sit at a table just for dessert… you would have thought I asked her something insulting! She started yelling at me and saying it’s full even though it’s 9pm and there were so many empty tables. Will definitely not be coming back especially when last time we were there the food was mediocre so we were even doing them a favor! Why would you give up business as a business owner?

On top of that they just responded over a year later with more derogatory comments! I am born on the French Riviera so I know that this kind of service is not common throughout the region as they are trying to allude to.

By the way we were there for another occasion to eat Paella and my mother go badly burnt by the pot which left a scar, as no one informed us that the dish was...

Les Vent d’Anges is a little local spot, away from the hustle and bustle of the beach restaurants peddling €30 for a plate of leaves. This is where the inhabitants of town eat, and it’s easy to see why.

The atmosphere is a small restaurant, heated primarily via the wood burning pizza stove. Everyone here, including the customers speaks French, and their are no English menus.

I ordered The Butcher pizza. Mince meat, onions and egg. An odd combination but one I thoroughly enjoyed. The pizzas are thin and crispy, so I didn’t feel bad for indulging.

My father had a steak. He enjoyed his but said it was a tad tough. It was perfectly cooked. I suppose the cows are just built different here.

My mother had the prawns, and devoured all of them. So fresh and simply done in garlic.

One of my all time favourite restaurant. Love everything from the decoration to the food. Best being there grilled lamb chops! Wonderful local french atmosphere, a place away from the hussle of the busy port. A real authentic experience.
