Recently, I had the pleasure of dining at Ishtar Restaurant, and I must say, it was an experience to remember. From the moment I walked in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere set the tone for a delightful evening. The interior decor was tastefully done, creating an inviting ambiance that perfectly complemented the culinary journey ahead.

Unfortunately it looks like we got this place on a bad day based on other reviews. We arrived at 8.30pm and left at 10.15pm with our food as takeaway having not eaten any of our order at the restaurant! It seems like they need more front of house and kitchen staff. We were given complimentary bread and a dip after about an hour of waiting as some consolation but there was never any explanation of what was happening or how much longer it would take. Despite the obvious kitchen issues the service was so poor we weren’t even asked if we wanted a second drink while we waited. Restaurant is nicely fitted out but the prevailing atmosphere was of other tables also exasperated at the wait with people waiting to pay their bill and tables not cleared for some time after guests had left. I can see why this place has 4.8 stars. A gem. It is a humble, clean, very welcoming restaurant with fantastic service and food with flavor that will make your taste buds explode. The gentleman that was working was handling each table quickly, with kindness, and even though he was constantly running around, it was never hasty or a long wait.

The food is the highlight though, the flavors and presentation are truly out of this world for Lebanese food. The quality is high, and there is clearly a lot of care that goes into these meals.

Highly recommended if you're in the Nice area and want a great meal in a relaxed, cultural environment. You will not be disappointed.
