We had our final dinner in Nice at Torlasco e Torlasco il Vino, conveniently located within walking distance of our hotel. Since we began our trip with seafood at Le Café de Turin, it felt fitting to end it with another seafood-focused meal—and this place did not disappoint.
We ordered three sets of oysters (6 Huîtres Marennes Spéciales Fine de Claire), each paired with a glass of Muscadet. The oysters were incredibly fresh, with a clean, briny flavour and perfect texture—just what we were craving. Although we initially wanted prawns, they were not available that evening, so we went with the Salade de Poulpe (octopus salad) and a Dorade Entière (whole grilled sea bream, 400–600g).
The octopus salad was tangy and refreshing, served cold with a light vinaigrette. While the texture wasn’t as soft as the one we had two nights earlier at La Langouste (which was cooked differently), it was still very enjoyable and awakened our appetite with its bright, citrusy profile. The grilled sea bream was a highlight—beautifully cooked, tender and juicy with a crisp skin, bringing out the delicate flavour of the fish.
The total bill came to €136 for three people including wine, which we found to be excellent value for the quality of food and overall experience.
The staff were friendly and welcoming. They didn’t speak much English, but they were patient and did their best to communicate with us. Although the team was clearly busy, service remained efficient and attentive throughout our meal.
One small note—the music was quite loud inside the restaurant. The playlist was mostly retro French songs, which we actually enjoyed, but it would’ve been better if the volume were slightly lower to allow for easier conversation.
All in all, a lovely way to end our trip. Great seafood, warm service, and a lively atmosphere. We’d definitely return and recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxed and satisfying seafood...
Read moreWe came here because I was craving some good fish. We were nicely surprised by the owner giving us the best seat in the house :) beautiful wooden table, with flowers and high chairs. The owner was very accommodating, and immediately informed us it was rather busy and it will take a few minutes before he could get to us (he’s running the business alone: bar, kitchen, everything… IMPRESSIVE!) - but no problem for us. We had time. He was always as friendly every time he came by, to take our drinks, food, digestif, … The food was exquisite (the tomato mozzarella was out of this world!!! Delicious olive oil!!) and we had a beautiful evening. We ended up having a lovely close off drink with the owner -Sylvain- and another couple just like us. These are the types of evenings that you want to have as a traveller. Good chats with local people. I would HIGHLY recommend this place if you like local, good food, hospitality and a social home-feel vibe. Thank you, Sylvain, for the great experience and for making us love Nice even more! Don’t hesitate to come here and fall in love with la...

Just a few minutes from the main city centre and Nice Ville station lies this delightful seafood restaurant—a little off the beaten path but absolutely worth discovering.
We enjoyed a truly satisfying meal featuring paella, fried mixed fish, and an octopus salad. I exceptionally love the paella.
What really elevated our experience was the warm hospitality of the owner, Sylvain. A local to the area, he not only hosted us with genuine charm but also shared personal stories that gave our visit a more intimate, memorable touch. He recommended a rosé wine from Corsica, served at the perfect chilled temperature, which paired beautifully with our food.
We sat outdoors to make the most of the lovely weather. The ambiance was relaxed and welcoming—very kid-friendly too. Altogether, a charming and authentic dining experience that we’d gladly return for.
Highly recommended if you’re looking to enjoy local seafood in a relaxed setting just minutes from the buzz of...
