Bob's Bake Shop — Restaurant in Paris

Food/drink: Mediocre food, expensive compared to the local area and nearby Asian/African restaurants provide better food for half the price

Ambience: Seems unsure if it's a casual American diner or a restaurant, for me it doesn't quite achieve either. It feels like it's not been very well thought out and I get the impression that it's more about profit than about the activity itself, because it lacks care and attention to detail... certainly it's very alien to the rest of the area and I'd be surprised if the owners are local

They have rather a lot of signs up complaining about people reading/using their laptops which I found odd. "This is not a bibliotechque". I'd never noticed people using laptops there but I love to see people reading and writing, and I think they're wrong in their assessment that it creates bad ambience. I wondered if it's more about getting people out of the door quickly to make a higher profit, but also it's rarely very full

Avis 27/09/2020 : Ca a bien changé... on n’a même plus le temps de finir son plat, le personnel revenant à plusieurs reprises pour nous faire partir faute de places... Sympa l’accueil !

We were sitting since 20-30 minutes only, after ordering, each one of us, a meal, a desert and a drink. We were eating desert, when a member of your staff asked us to leave 2 times !! So maybe you can ask your staff before insulting me of using a false name or working on a computer I didn’t have. Yes, it’s my real name, and it’s my first review because it’s the first time I’m so shocked by a behavior.

I’ve been here a few times and I’ve had good food every time. Pancakes, bagels, egg sandwiches, muffins, chai tea, everything I’ve tried so far has been good. The person at the counter the most recent time I went was really helpful and patient with my order as I asked some questions about the different ingredients in the salad and the bread. The past times the person was a bit impatient and not as helpful so I appreciated this new person, she made me eager to try some more things. Namely the green tea muffin- that was delicious I’m glad I asked about it. For the seating it’s definitely a cool place but the table I sat at was so wobbly it was a nuisance. They need better seating areas! But then people would probably hang out for hours and hours and...
